Does anyone know when this years event will take place?
All the club (and almost all other clubs to be fair) seem to do is have a band walk round the pitch, have some tasty delacacies around the Stadium and the players wear a few tee shirts.
If we have a couple of months to plan this properly does anyone have any suggestions of what the club can do to try and encourage more fans to watch the Gas. Any good suggestions could then be passed on to BSS to recommend to the Board.
If the chosen match was quid a kid and there were one off kosher pies, we could attract a new wave of regular fans.
I walked through Eastville Park the other day when there was an Islamic festival and there were loads of Asian kids playing football. Not many were wearing kits but there were all the usual suspects Man U, Arsenal, Spurs etc but not one Rovers or City.
Bristol has a large Polish contingent and other European countries so the potential is huge. We should embrace all footballing loving cultures and try and join the Gas.

Unfortunately the kick it out campaign isn't supported by ethnic minoritys as the campaign does absolutely nothing besides from print t-shirts .

No! Whatever it is - no.
The Kick Racism Out banner is a jinx; we ALWAYS get d1cked on for that game. Always. And don't get me started on the players wearing RED t-shirts before that Racism Red Card match.

but doesn't the thought of young Muslims bombing down the wings make the crowd a mite nervous?

Perhaps certain comments on this thread highlight exactly why less ethnic minorities are seen at the Mem.

Maybe contact the relevant community leaders and have a discussion about what we could do on the day which would encourage the people they represent to come along to The Mem? I think your suggestion of Quid a kid is a very good starting point.

Gas Ed, can you convince me that not one Muslim person tells a joke about a Christian ? The guy three doors down from me ( a Muslim ) is one of the funniest guys I know and he does religion, sport and world news ! We are all the same so I am guessing we all tell jokes ?

Are they racist jokes ? What really gets me angry is people being offended on behalf of others. We would all get on so much better if we all joined in together and had a bloody good laugh, I work with just about every person you can think of and we all get on like a house on fire because..............we have a laugh ! We are not all leftie social workers are we ?
