DC has said their is little likelihood of any new players coming in before the transfer market shuts, so unless we get any loans after it shuts this is what we have. Or maybe he's trying to thow us of the scent..?

Hmmmmmmm, well this doesn't really tally with just about every other interview we have heard come out of the club over the last 3 weeks or so?
Odd

DC probably had a list of players, but for various reasons ie transfer fee, wages, not available, he couldn't get what he wanted. No point going out to sign someone just for the sake of it. What you want, what you need and what you get, are three totally separate things....as I constantly tell Mini Me Mk2.
The other lot have got upto 9m quid to blow and everyone knows it, yet they can't seem to sign anyone.

I'm not majorly disappointed if true to be honest. We have a good enough squad to compete, maybe a short term replacement for Leadbitter would have been nice if he is out for any length of time though. We always have the loan market which I think we will definitely dip into at some point.

It is true, I'm on the phone now & don't know how you copy & paste web-address's, but if you go on The Post site have a look at the story about Eddie Howe DC says it there.

If we're going to play 352 then we need back up wing backs. Sinclair will probably be on the right tomorrow where to me he is wasted.

Agree but as long as Browner stays fit there's no need to splash out on a backup left sided player. Better to get someone in on loan if he does get injured. Touch wood he has been pretty injury free ever since signing so should be fine there. Right wing back could be an issue though. Sinclair looked better there than he did on the right of midfield where he is wasted, he really got into the game against Barnet on the right so short term I'd be relatively happy with him there now Mansell is back. Gosling also looked good central if needs be. Like I said if Leadbitter is out long term a replacement would be nice. Also GK situation is not really sorted unless we extend Chapman's deal.

It's all part of the way DC deals with the media. He gains nothing by saying he hopes to add a couple before the deadline, because if for some reason the moves fall through, he will have got supporters' hopes up only to disappoint them. By giving nothing away - and at no point during his interview does he actually say no players will be signed - he can get on with his business without further scrutiny from the press.

I'm not surprised the club has no money to play with I wonder why ? I wonder if our squad is actually smaller than last season !? There's also quite a few on 3 and 6 month contracts - never thought I'd see that at Rovers after a promotion especially !!
