I've never been to Leyton Orient, I'm driving, I don't possess a sat nav and I'm after some advice on the best route to take. I almost always drive to away games and have no problems but I've been told that there are roadworks around the approaches to the ground that will likely get in my way. Without a sat nav, any deviation from internet directions could get me lost.
AA route planner default sends me to the bottom of the M4 and through London (130 miles).
If I override it to take me round the M25 it says M4, M25, M11, A406 north circular (160 miles).
However, Tom Tom route planner says M4, M25, M40/A40, A406 north circular (141 miles).
Can anyone offer advice as to which is the best, hassle free, route and where I might encounter the roadworks?
Thanks.

There is another option drive to the m25 and park at Uxbridge and get tube in but this could take 80 mins but might take the hassle away

You can get a flight from Bristol to London City Airport.
Plus side: Avoid the traffic and rail strikes. Land just 4 miles from Orient's ground. Slight minus sides: You travel via Dublin. It takes 6 hours. It costs £500.
Just a suggestion.

There ain't no hassle free routes,go the short way through London and follow the signs for the Olympic park (A12)if you get lost,it's less than 2 miles further along the A12.probably takes about the same time whatever way you go.

I've only read the title of the thread, not the detail...
....head towards the sunrise, past India, and bear left a bit...

M4 to London.
A4 - go over Hammersmith flyover then left towards Westfield.
Journey time 90 mins
Park at Westfield.
Tube shepherds bush to Leyton - non stop central line.

Otherwise aa route planner is right shortest route is through the city.
M4 - a4 - embankment - Whitechapel - mile end road - Stratford - Leyton.
North circular may be more free flowing.
I genuinely believe best method is park and tube.
