Sorry to have a moan, but why is the merchandise and leisurewear dated and terrible quality? Took the kids in the shop today and couldn't believe the limited market stall clobber on offer of kids. The old bird serving basically said there hands are tied!
You would have thought now that we are back in the league, off the field we would be looking to improve certain areas to bring in additional revenue. Not only that, more importantly get the kids wearing the Rovers 'brand'.
Looking at the website, it doesn't look like we have anyone in charge of this area. I know the fans attempted to help out with the retail panel but boices team had their own ideas!

The whole club is second rate, lacking any vision and done on the cheap. That isn't going to change with the current lot making the decisions, unfortunately.
As far as retail is concerned, all they have to do is ring one of the clubs they are friendly with who now how to do it.. the Brightons, Readings and Norwichs of this world. See what they're selling, ask what their 10 biggest sellers are and sell the same stuff with a Rovers logo.
Football clubs have the massive advantage in that they can just copy their successful competition. It's not hard. But apparently is is.

It is a bit of a joke. It is like we are waiting for the stadium (Which looks like it will not ever happen) before we get anything in gear.
Proper ticketing. Proper marketing. Products people want to buy.
We are being run on a conference budget behind the scenes and those involved in running the club sadly don't seem to realise that if we had a retail outfit that wasn't utterly diabolical we might actually have some more income to pay our Wonga loans, laywers and heaven forbid, staff on and off the pitch.

Just thinking aloud here but is there any way this could be run by the fans and effectively pay the club a % for the use of its name/brand? There must be a buisness in there somewhere and there seems to be a whole lot more enthusiasm for it amongst the fans.

Someone already does that and when they announced it on here they were hounded out of the forum within a day. That was shocking. Even as an occasional user on the forum, I felt the need to get in touch with the chap to apologise. I said it 'tounge in cheek' on another thread but there really are some extremely immature posters on here (in terms of nastiness, as opposed to the often great humour seen). It's easy to make your point without hounding a fellow user, but that would be way to simple for some.

Anyone with even the slightest finger on the pulse could see this'll make money. Cotton t-shirt, face of Sinclair on it, catchy slogan... would be simple to produce, great mark-up and people would love it. Can even get Sinclair to pose with the shirt on. Simple idea, £££ for the club and fans.

I have felt for a long time that the club severely lack vision and forethought when it comes to merchandise the club could easily sell. My last few visits to the shop have been for a general reason but nothing has ever truly caught my eye where I could/would jump at the chance to spend any money. The last thing I purchased was the current yellow away shirt.

I do cringe when I see some of the poorly written articles on the website and the naff marketing. It sickens me to say, but you look at that other lot across the river and the way they do things, and there really is no comparison. It's embarrassing. Thank god the Darrell Clarke and the team can take the edge off and give us some sense of pride in our club.

To be honest think it pretty much sums up everything that's wrong with OUR club. They'd rather do things on the cheap, but sometimes it you think about it, people can just see it's being ran cheaply so have no choice but to walk away without purchasing. Whereas if we could see effort and even a little bit of money put in, it would improve vastly and therefore people might want to spend in the club shops. The point I'm trying to make is rather than actually using the cheap option all the time and get no money back it's probably better to put decent money in to make better so you get more money back. Eg you buy cheap pairs of socks your going to have to keep replacing them and probably actually spend more money than if you just spent the extra £8 in the first place.

Those at the top don't like people who can do things better than them and therefore the idea will be dismissed.

Hate to say this but you only have to go over to that place south of the river to see how to promote stuff in their supermarket of a shop in the new stand......

How many threads do we need to tell us the club appears to be run poorly? At the end of the day unless somebody's got millions to buy our NH & co we may as well just stop complaining as it's clear nothing is going to change.

Totally understand where you're coming from, but it's a well known fact that the people within the hierarchy of rovers read this or get information from another source about stuff on this forum. Therefore maybe, just maybe it's worth persevering with as surely one day there will be an idea on here that the board will have to use in the end to make OUR club better after all we all want the same thing from us the supporters to the ones right at the top of the hierarchy.

I have received insults from the staff for no good reason other than returning a faulty shirt. Even got threatened by the bloody chef bloke from behind the Blackthorn stand. Then had the replacement shirt thrown at me! Bloody disgrace I agree.
