Our play isn't incisive enough when we play sides who put every man behind the ball like Oxford did. We seem to find it hard to break down teams who put two banks of four in front of their goal.
We look very threatening when we attack into space, but need to do more to create opportunities when teams have no intention of committing men forward themselves. Our only chances today fell to Parkes, who is the last man you want on the end of them.
I won't go into a rant about the ref, because if I do I genuinely won't be able to stop...

Our play is too slow and cautious. We don't support our attackers or give them good service.Because we play litterally with two up front with no support then they have to use all their energy dropping off and chasing four players around. We could also do with a tall physically strong targetman to compete with the opposition. I couldn't agree with you more Steve, we need a big powerful man up front. At present we have two small main strikers, one who likes his back to the goal and likes to pass back and one who would prefer to be out wide and avoid the penalty box. Oh for a greedy type like Jamie Cureton who took great pleasure seeing that net bulge!! Oh for Adam Barrett, he would have loved those penalty box chances today. Must have a drink, live in Oxford!

If Adam Barrett was playing we would lost the game heavily.our defence was solid today and was only breached by a worldie a Barrett in there and they would have been all over the place just like they were when 50 pence head was leading a team shipping soft goals.

Another moan...more at general rules than theref but we were on the attack, their player gets hit by the ball and they end up time wasting and getting a free kick from it where they lump it back to our keeper! How is that fair?! It is a flaw in the rules to be fair. So many times "head injuries" are used to time waste.

Heres a replay of the no penalty. Truly awful. Robbed, robbed... robbed.

Were you at the game? Or did you watch it on the telly?

Yeah, three minutes 'observation' on the sidelines would end all that, and would be a needed help for genuine head injuries.

Two cr@p ref's are really covering up we've had virtually no goal threat in our last two matches, yesterday we still played 30 mins plus of 11 v 11 and another 30 mins plus of 10 v 10 but still didn't create a worthwhile chance. We've now back to last season before we brought Cunnington & Martin in and then LDV & Dawson, we clearly need pace on the wings & a different option up front. Why we didn't re-sign Dawson is a real mystery.

But............Without the crap Ref's we might have had 6 points and everyone would be happy. Frustration can make a team look worse than they are, two wins and confidence will change the way we play, Ok, we don't make many clear chances but the freedom of those points in the bag would allow the players to push on more. Crap Ref's can and do ruin a teams confidence !

We would have still probably lost at Orient and only picked up a draw yesterday without having any decent attemtps on goal, as I said it's early least all over again, which I suppose it not surprising given we all knew we needed a decent CF and winger(s) in the summer.

DC has brought 3 wingers in and Taylor n Harrison scored 30+ goals last year. Chill out.

But 2 are probably the worse wingers we've seen at Rovers for years, not sure who the 3rd is as I though Bodin was a stiker & Drury a RWB? Taylor & Harrison are clearly now deemed not good enough by DC as he never plays them together, although scoring goals last season doesn't count for this.

Poor referee and we played well up to the box; then with no wingers, easter playing in midfield tapping two yard balls and Taylor constantly getting bundled off the ball and falling over, we just do not look like scoring a goal.

The ref allowed our forwards to be constantly fouled yesterday - that strangled out most of our pressing play in the final third because Oxford knew they could tackle from behind, shirt pull, hold back, pull back arms and a lot more and get away with it.
We've looked a decent side in the last two games against two teams who will be pushing for promotion. Add into thew mix a ref who seemed actively biased yesterday and I don't think we can have too many complaints yet.
Yes we haven't created many goal ops in the last 120 minutes of football but like I sai we've been up against a team looking to win the league and a solid team with the ref on their side.

Why we didn't re-sign Dawson is a real mystery. We were 11v11 for 17 mins. So I'm guessing the header parks should have scored, the Easter volley, the free kick, Browns header across goal, the penalty we should have had and the countless corners resulting in shots doesn't count for chances? On another day we could have won 2/3-0. Yes we could maybe create a little more but to say we didn't have any chances is wrong IMO. I haven't enjoyed a 1-0 defeat like that as we actually played football.
