we need the chapman for the rest of the season. His decision making and control of the box will get better with games. I think he's going to be a real asset

No better than Mildy in which case it's money needlessly spent I don't see the point keeping him but then again I'm happy with Mildy and don't understand why DC wants another keeper Well obviously DC disagrees with your view or he wouldn't have told Mildenhall to find another club That's fair enough, respect his decision, I just don't share it

Chapman a far better keeper than Mildy NOW. Distributes the ball better is more commanding than Mildy and gets down well for a big man. has only let in two goals ,made brilliant save at yeovil to give us a chance of 3 points and made 4 or 5 saves at Orient that Mildy would have struggled to get down to.What paltry mark would you give Chapman then Stapletongas? Probably not fair to ask you, as you say,we are all entitled to our opinion.

Play him up front?

He's very similar to Mildenhall, in the way he looks like he's about to throw it out to one of the backs, who's haring it towards the wing in order to get the quick ball, and then he changes his mind at the last moment, for no apparent reason. Every time. Proper tease. He did throw the ball out very quickly yesterday to Brown most of the time.... Mr. Fargas You obviously have never played in goal at any level. Granted once against Oxford one of his throws may have got us into trouble, most of his throws were constructive, except when our own player passed to an opponent, you just cannot punt the ball up to very short forwards as Mildenhall does time after time, we have no physical presence up front to win and hold the ball up. A good goal keeper will try and play it from the back and not just kick it. Give him time and if we can extend his loan brilliant. As I cannot see DC signing anything better

I think Chapman's decision making is the most worrying thing for me - yes he threw it out a couple of times yesterday but when he did it sometimes put us under more pressure. Yet he missed opportunities to start attacks with throws with less danger attached to them. It was odd. His lack of communication hindered us once or twice as well, along with letting Lines/Lockyer track back in the final few minutes when Oxford cleared into our half with nobody attacking the ball. Goalkeeper with a kick of his standard should be taking control of the situation. I'm also in the 'just as good/bad as Mildenhall' camp, his throwing etc. is slightly better but I'm not convinced his distribution is actually worth the indecisiveness and lack of communication his play brings. Re: Puddy, I like him but when under pressure he isn't no. 1 either in my opinion. He was put in very comfortable situations last season when we were doing well and did well, but he struggled when teams competed with us. Basically, I'd reinstate Mildenhall until another goalkeeper is found. Not sure what happened to Flahavan but clearly DC didn't rate him, I think a loan from Prem/Champ is required because their distribution will no doubt be equipped for what DC obviously wants. Haven't man U got a surplus of goalies? #dreamon Given a choice should we be spending money on another goalie or alternatively a decent stiker, that's a good one to ponder? Yes but they are on £99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 a week

First time ive seen Chapman on Sunday, looked a bit dodgy to me. Not off his line quick enough and there were oppotunities for opposition strikers to get between him and defenders. Kicking was very good

Everyone saying he is no better than Sm is thinking of the Sm when he first arrived, not the aging one that is to slow, sticks to his line, has poor distribution and makes mistakes. He is getting older and less agile all the time. Chapman is a much better option.
Lots saying he was slow off his line, I can't remember him not coming off when he should have done? Can't remember him having a lot to do on Sunday to be honest.

Chappers spell in goal conincides with DC playing 5 at the back, it'd be interested to see if SM was still as poor as he was when we played 4 at the back, as I assume Chesterfield will now want us to meet at least half of Chappers wages if we want to extend his loan spell?

Don't think the keeper kicks better and becomes more mobile because of a change in formation. Chapman's big frame is enough to put strikers off and enough to force wingers to put there crosses further out. Also dc sees them in training. He will know if Sm is past it.

I certainly don't make comments making assumption about what a player would have done had he been selected and how he would have handled a situation. It didn't happen, so you don't know, so why say that about Mildy? Mystic Steve?

Ok Stapletongas, you don't mark a player out of 10...so what? As regards how a player may have handled a situation I am basing it on the Mildy I have seen in most recent times which is a mile away from the Mildy we signed. Those who know me will know that I have been very pro Mildy for a long time but honestly feel that now he is just a reasonable No 2. His size does give him an advantage over a fit Puddy in this League but IMO Chapman is better than both. Its just an opinion the same as marks out of 10 are just my opinion as to how I saw the game but in the same way any comments you make are just your opinion to which you are entitled. Personally I prefer to have a keeper signed on for the whole season however what DC has come out and said about Mildy I have my opinion on and have said and feel that it really means that we have to either sign Chapman if it can be arranged to all parties satisfaction or sign another keeper.DC has made it clear that he has no confidence in Mildy.

not overly impressed with the big man in all fairness... was not pictured in yesterday's team photo so says to me DC is not convinced he's his new Number 1!?? I'd personally save on wages & stick with milldenhall or puddy as 1st choice....
