Padstow, Many keepers make the move to come out and then stop and reposition else they would be stuck to their line like Mildenhall often was in the latter days. Since he has been here Chapman has IMO done all that could be expected of him,let in very few goals and has looked very confident in all he has done. Joe Hart would have got nowhere near the goal on Sunday and since chapman has been in goal I actually haven't worried one bit when the opposition have a corner which is not something I could say when either Mildy(in the last year or 18 months) or Puddy are between the sticks. sorry to disagree ,Steve, but if you look at his movements leading up to the goal he came forward far too precipitously without thinking whether he was able to get the ball which he wasn't,therefore he was moving backwards and still several yards off his line when the shot came in.I have been told by a number of keepers, including Bonnetti,Tony Cook and Nigel Martyn that it is much wiser to stay put it is easier to move forward than backwards

He's very similar to Mildenhall, in the way he looks like he's about to throw it out to one of the backs, who's haring it towards the wing in order to get the quick ball, and then he changes his mind at the last moment, for no apparent reason. Every time. Proper tease. Except he hasn't dropped the ball in the net yet. Kept us in it away at Orient. SM didn't in his first season

They said that about Pele,s far post header in a world cup game couple of yards out and keeper on the other side of the goal, but then again it was only Gordon Banks,he saved the impossible,so be carefull about sweeping statements they come back ti bite you, still think he was out of position and on the back foot Can you please give as a detailed analysis on how Mildenhall failed to stop a ball from rolling inbetween his legs last season Simple it was a deflection that toopk the ball away from where he was moving and his only hope was to stick out a leg

Chapters positioning was poor I thought it at the time but it doesn't mean he's a bad keeper. It was a great shot that would have probably beaten him even if hed been a yard or two further back. I wouldn't mind seeing him stay until the end of the season.

WOW! There is not a keeper on the planet who would have saved that!! Literally unsavable. They said that about Pele,s far post header in a world cup game couple of yards out and keeper on the other side of the goal, but then again it was only Gordon Banks,he saved the impossible,so be carefull about sweeping statements they come back ti bite you, still think he was out of position and on the back foot They said that after he'd saved it, of course.

So ideally we should allow Chapman to return home and bring in Gordon Banks? He wasn't out of position, exactly where he should have been. I will say again, there is not a keeper in the land who would have saved that. Chapman is 6'8, was 2 yards off his line and didn't get near it!

DC's already highlighted the problem, the defence dropped back too deep having lost concentration after oxford went down to 10 ten, if Parkes(?) had been closer to thier CF and Clarke(?) closer to the goalscorer he wouldn't have had time to hit his wonder shot.
