From a relative oldie interesting to see the various posts and teams selected. My only comment would be for those who never saw Harold Jarman racing down the wing and beating players at will. You missed a treat and if you would have had the pleasure to see him at his best he would be in all your teams. Pity he is long retired as we would not be talking about the Montanas,Monokanas,Dawsons,Della Verdes and Hensons and our lack of somebody to get to the byline and lay on gilt edged chances for others. The Harold Harold chants from his greatist fan club in the North Enclosure will live long in the memory for me. Harold! Harold! UTG! It was a joy to watch him play, the atmosphere in the ground still lives large in my memories

Mark Walters for me. Even at his age he was unstoppable down the wing. A pleasure to watch. That team that Ollie built might have cost a few quid, but it was the best football I'd seen while watching Rovers. Oh and its Wally Walters for me too. Remember that game at The Mem when he & Roberts ripped The S hit to shreads!? Pure class.

I've chosen my favourites in a team line up. G.K. Martin Thomas R.B. David Pritchard C.B. Steve Yates C.B. Andy Tillson. L.B. Lyndsay Parsons R.M. Kenny Stephens C.M. Jamie Shore C.M. Wayne Jones L.M. Mickey Barrett. Striker. Rickie Lambert Striker. Marcus Stewart Poke and Matty Taylor are shocking omissions.

Wally Walters Tony Pounder Frankie Bennett and Jamie Shore also deserve a mention, their injuries had caught up with them, but that was the only reason they were playing for us in the first place. Premier League quality.

Craig Hinton-just a funny bloke
Aaron lescott- always underrated imo
Ben Hunt- loved laughing at how bad he was and his stupid run.
Nathan blissett-hilarious! Out of control kicks to people's heads make it look more like a karate match than a football match.

Vaughan Jones - for me he epitomised the Twerton spirit. HOLD IT, always shouted at a team member especially if the ball was 40 foot in the air. Cracking player and bloke

I'm surprised as I haven't seen his name in this thread yet but I would say big Stevie Eliott as well. Good defedner in his day, loved the club and always had time for the fans.

Also i seem to remember a midfielder we had called ian wright? I was about 7 or 8 maybe so i thought it was immense that he had the same name as the ian wright. Signed from Stoke City.

The whole of the '89/'90 promotion team, plus Nigel Martyn, Gary Penrice, Marcus Stewart, Gary Waddock. This was my era of going to see the Gas week-in week-out (from 87 - 93).
