Personally hate David Clarkson. Massive rep and wages and was completely useless. Will never forgive him for missing the open goal against Northampton town at six fields. Would of stayed in league two if he had scored. One miss doesn't relegate a good team, no matter how bad...

One miss doesn't relegate a good team, no matter how bad... How about Scott Jones penalty miss against BCFC82? Again, one miss doesn't relegate a good team, no matter how bad... ...the reason is a good team doesn't need one goal to stay up. It doesn't need 5, it doesn't need 20 goals to stay up. One miss can stop a team getting promoted, but that's an entirely different thing...

Matt Harold for me. He only had to score a couple more than f all and we may not have fell to that low. Paul tait. I used to hate his song. Goal machine my ass. How can a striker who scored 18 goals in one season be the worse of all time? MH was never the same player after he did his ACL. For me the Scottish player Cameron?? we paid good money for him but he was useless. Although Justin Richards does take some beating!

Derek Riordan was by far the worst.
Even Matthew Spring was far better than him.

The poster has obviously forgotton the winner at Wycombe in the final away game before relegation, without that reegation would have been an almost certainty before the Mansfield debacle.

We have had loads of dodgy strikers over the years. Mickey Evans, Dave Gilroy, Steve Parmenter, a short guy was it Tovey spring to mind. The worst for me though was Mitch Harding. So bad he's not a footballer anymore after leaving us. Some of the other names did have a few decent games but these were the worst in the time I have been watching the gas imo.

Did nothing on and off the ball (except encourage the hoof), couldn't score for sheet. Goals for column took us to a new low. Your right that he ain't the worst but he deserves a mention.

Was Mitch a striker or winger? Although I doubt even he knew, although to be fair to him he was only a youth player unlike strikers such as Evans, Richards & Cameron who we paid big money for, perhaps we should have the rose value for money?

Harrold certainly was water poor. I've never understood the love in some have for him. 18 goals? Yeah so what? That's the minimum you should expect from a striker - it's like praising a bloke you work with for achieving his bare minimum.
Chris Beardsley, again I have literally no idea why people rated this guy so much. He gave us absolutely zilch in terms of end product. And saying "oh but he'd move around a lot and confuse defenders" is just nonsense in a season when we couldn't buy a goal - look where it got us.
Mitch Harding - bit harsh on the lad, he didn't get much of an opportunity. He obviously hasn't got the breaks he needed in football.
Riordan - surely no one can disagree with. He had so little interest in this club it was insulting.
