Just thought of another...Kevin Gall. He was utter gash. Again one I didn't think got much of a chance and wasn't exactly gash for Yeovil.

Lee Matthews....9 games, 0 goals. Tbf to Lee, he came on loan from the s hit, and so had a point to prove. He didn't show lack of trying, if anything he tried too hard. IMO he wasn't the worst.

May get shot down for this but one of mine has to be junior agogo. Lazy barsteward he was. No chance. I will never forget that night against Yeovil. Also his sale led to the purchase of Lambert. You can't say that about any of the other strikers mentioned on this thread.

Christian McLean Riordan
Sorry but Clarkson was one of the best players in that awful team and those that slated him are blind.
Not an all time great by any means but considering played wide, a good footballer who rarely lost possession.

A great stand-in for Devon White when required! And scored a few! You can have Riordan, but not McLean!

No way I'm not having it, yes he only turned it on when he wanted but as bishopston said, that night against Yeovil was one of my fav nights and also fav games.

So after tallying up the marks its official Derek Riordan is our worst striker of all time.
Derek Riordan reached such peaks in his career as scoring 5times for Celtic and also being capped for scotland 3 times.
His rovers career had one highlight a free-kick that hit the bar against some village team.
After playing international for Scotland he then wasn't able to score a goal against northern cole mining villages.
Here is a video compilation of the Riordan we never got to see.
Congrats Deeks you are the worst rovers striker ever!

If only we had got him 10 years earlier eh?!

All it highlights is that we either a) have a very young fan base using this forum and/or b) people have extremely short memories. He was bad for us, but there is absolutely no way he was Rovers worst ever striker. End of.

He only played 2 games for Rovers, scoring in one of them in an away win at Scunthorpe before getting a serious injury which ended his career. He played about 100 minutes of football in a Rovers shirt with a 1 in 2 goal return, not even close to being one of the worst. Edit: He actually played 13 games, my memory is pretty hazy from the early 2000's. I could of sworn he only played a couple of games, Still not the worst though.

An appearance could be 90 seconds, could be 30 seconds. I'm not saying he was brilliant, I've just seen way way way worse in a Rovers shirt.

The standard of football was so immeasurably sh**e pre 90s that any 2000s footballer was probably better than even our better players from the 70s.

But in terms of technical ability, players of today are nowhere near to the level of players of yesteryear.
