If there are talks going on re a takeover what do we want and what don't we want in the future, its our club. Maybe someone with money and power is reading this forum What do you love about us and what would you wish to change? For me I like our grounded image, but not as low as ragbag Rovers. I love our name, the shirts and Irene. I like to feel part of it and not just be the end product of a rich mans investment. I would like a situation at last where we can buy a proper stadium a striker or two, attack, get goals and win trophies. Yes while we sing Irene as all these things are our history and culture and that's what I love about the Gas (and that must remain too). Thoughts?

We want it, and we SHOULD get it. I can't begin to imagine us missing out on this opportunity!

I personally would like to see an end to the conspiracy theory's, many of which appear to be ungrounded or the result of a squabble or two.
This club needs a grounding that will allow us to move forwards at a sustainable pace, and develop the Gas branding into a profitable enterprise.

Up the Gas I hate the fact that business wording such as "enterprise", "branding" and "profitable" Are now common place within football. I am not daft enough not to realise this is the way forward though, so therefore I agree with you!

I'm sitting on the Goldmine that is my 5x10p Shares in BRFC. With the rumours of a take-over my retirement beckons, funded by these Shares.

Right, this is annoying me now!
What the hell have I missed here?!
I can find no talk whatsoever of a take over anywhere on the web?
Vital normally know whats going on and there is nothing at all on there...

It would put a whole load of PR and training company's out of the marketplace. We need a director of blue sky thinking or some such guru

Vital normally know whats going on and there is nothing at all on there... There was talk of a plan B which seemed to involve Rovers with a third share in a downgraded UWE, with UWE and ANOther as partners. Then there was talk of a Plan C which seemed to be an attempt to takeover the club and build a 100% UWE 100% belonging to Rovers. But this is all rumour. No one has confirmed either plan, and Higgs has denied any takeover is 'imminent.' And there's nothing in the press.

I'm i missing something or shouldn't we just wait for official confirmation there is at least a serious bid on the table? imagien the fun the 82er's will have on thier OTIN forum repeating posts from here if this all comes to nothing?
If we did even get an approach I'd just want investors on board who were interested in Rovers the football club and not Rovers the money making machine.

UWE would not be 100% ours, it would be 100% the consortiums ?

I thought it would be worthwhile to tell them (NH and others) what we want before we find ourselves called Bristol Pirates, playing in pink hoops and having to do exercises to Boney M before the game starts

UWE would not be 100% ours, it would be 100% the consortiums ? I guess it depends on the integrity of the Consortium? Don't the current BoD have the voting power to sell The Mem to repay their loans, if they so desire? Excuse my naieviety - I'm no expert in these matters.

Right, this is annoying me now! What the hell have I missed here?! I can find no talk whatsoever of a take over anywhere on the web? Vital normally know whats going on and there is nothing at all on there... I'll try...... Plan A remains to get Sainsburys to honour the contract via the appeal, whenever that may be. A few weeks ago Vitalgas reported that the UWE was looking at a reduced 15000 capacity stadium, which a UWE spokesman dismissed. NH stated that there is a Plan B which he was talking with partners about and could not say more at this stage. The loan was also being renegotiated. Last week Colin Sexton left Plymouth and took up a non executive director role with us. Later that week JTS posted that Plan B would not only be a reduced capacity but would be with more partners than the UWE and therefore dilute our revenue income from non match day events. It would also incorporate an 8 lane running track affecting the atmosphere. This being information he had known for a while but felt getting now had to share before this becomes a done deal behind closed doors. A day later, Gasincider posted that a consortium are interested in investing and build the UWE as originally planned, plus investing in the playing side. NH said nothing is "imminent" Both JTS and Gasincider understand their sources to be reliable. The subtext to this seems to be whether their sources are reliable or whether the are being fed information for non altruistic reasons, whether there is a genuine consortium, whether NH is holding out for valid or stubborn reasons. Also there is speculation over who these people are. Apologies if I have missed anything. I have tried to stay neutral in tone but for what it is worth, I feel that JTS has enough credence here to be believed.

UWE would not be 100% ours, it would be 100% the consortiums ? At the moment the Mem is surely 100% BRFC1883/the BoD's anyway, hence why there are fears they are going to sell it?
