Thoroughly entertaining game tonight at Appledore, Rovers winning 3-1 after conceding two late penaltys, one brilliantly saved by the excellent Gas keeper. Very good quality football played by both sides, not a hoof ball in evidence. Alan Walsh looks to have some very good lads in this squad even though some were kept back for first team friendly matches. Although losing the previous night 4-0 to Barnstaple the lads showed a lot of confidence playing the ball out from the back and more than matched there physically stronger opponents and their finishing was a class above Appledore.

Concur with this, a good summary. Very enjoyable game and really pleasing to see enthusiastic youngsters playing some decent football. It's a pity there were no team sheets so I'm not too clued up on names but all the lads did well with 3 or 4 stand out players. Our keeper pulled off several very athletic saves, including a penalty, and although not especially tall looks a very good prospect. It was great to have the Youths playing on our doorstep and hopefully will get to see them again sometime this season. Well done lads and thanks to Appledore FC, a very friendly little club.
