The thing is, Mildy's not going to get better, but Nicholls is sure to. He's made a couple of blunders - including dashing out of his goal and getting lobbed - but that's no worse than open goals missed at the other end. We have to stand by younger players who look very good except for the odd clanger IMO. It will benefit the team in the long run.
That is, unless a very good, experienced keeper can be signed, but that's unlikely.

My biggest issue with Nicholls is I don't feel he comes off his line enough.

Yes, it's that kind of judgement call that less experienced keepers get wrong, but some learn quickly from public humiliation. It's a hard school, but if we let him go now, someone else may get the benefit of his learning from mistakes. He's not helped when his own centre back heads one over him into the net either!

I wonder if he got a clear "away" call from Nicholls, as I can't understand why he was heading towards goal regardless of the push in the back he received?

Better keeper than Chapman, Puddy and Mildenhall based on what I have seen this season so more than happy to stick with him as long as he is here and hopefully we can extend his contract for the rest of the season. Whilst not wishing to see Nicholls go, I don't see how anyone can say he's better than Chapman. Remember the cock up at Morecambe as well? I'm not so worried about how good Nicholls will be, it's now that matters, and it's unlikely we will keep him. i just can't remember Chapman making ANY errors, and was efficient in everything he did.

Chapman still on our books or has he gone?

I was a bit surprised he was dropped. Did nothing wrong did he? Terrific low-down save at Yeovil for such a biggun.

My own guess is that TP was caught in two minds - suddenly decided to nod it to his keeper instead of away but body shape too powerful. Who knows?
