see with their financial position precarious, is it worth looking to take either young Smith who was sacked by Leicester or Ryan Clarke? clearly evident that is one position we need addressing! What do people think?

Isn't Nicholls here to January, if so, do we really need him & Mildenhall as back ups, plus are northampton selling off their players and is he really going to move this far from the E Mids?

I'd be delighted if we signed Nicholls permenantly, he wasn't player of the year at Northampton for nothing. Yes he made a complete **** up the other day, but he looks a solid GK.

Nichols had been relatively solid before Saturday, no? If a goalkeeper got written off every time they had a dodgy game or even run of games, then there would be no-one left between the sticks. Hart had a dodgy period a year or so ago, now he's compared with the world's best keepers. I'm not comparing Nichols with Hart (if I don't put that in, someone will accuse me of doing so!), I just think it's too soon to write the guy off.

We won't have a keeper by January so I would definitely consider Ryan Clarke at some point. He is too good to be sitting on the bench at this level.

We should go for that Bournemouth keeper he doesn't need to join the gas academy for gaffe goalies,he's already Borucs.

I'm more than happy with the lad we've got. Yes he had a bad day of it on saturday but we've all had those.

I am more than happy with Nicholls as well, he has made some great saves, when it comes to keepers people remember the odd bad error rather than all good saves.

Personally despite his huge error the other day I'm happy with Nicholls. We have got a slight issue towards christmas though when i think his loan is up and obviously can't be extended until the following January.
I'd love to know if he's available in the cup, hoping so

Wasn't looking forward to looking at this thread and thought I would have to stick up for the bloke, but really glad most other gasheads seem to be level headed and can see past the last match.
Better keeper than Chapman, Puddy and Mildenhall based on what I have seen this season so more than happy to stick with him as long as he is here and hopefully we can extend his contract for the rest of the season.
