Is anyone else having trouble with the forum trying to download virus and malware ridden files on to their android device? The last two weeks I've been hit nearly every time I've logged on with malicious websites and files. No such thing on my pc when I log on though just my phone.

Usually this sort of thing is spread through advertising used on a website. My pc is running with an ad blocker which is probably why I don't have any problems on there.

Yes.
I cleared cache and temp files in settings then full power down of phone and it's improved.

Hm - I'm surprised by that. I've not had any issues on my phone, ipad, or computer.

Yes. I cleared cache and temp files in settings then full power down of phone and it's improved. Good to see a mod jump on a forum thread straight away that has trouble written all over it! Is there someone that hosts the forum that could be contacted to block whatever malicious adverts that's being used?

You could try messaging proboards direct I suppose.
I'm not sure if ads on this site are based on browser history or if we all see the same ads?
It's not something we have any control over. It's the ads that allow us to use the forum.
The only way we could remove ads is to request a subscription fee from our users of about a quid a month each which would allow us to go Ad Free. Unlikely I would think.

I've deleted a number of posts in this thread.
Sorry guys, but we need to clean up our collective postings in the main sections of Gaschat.

Unlikely I would think. Surely Proboards can't be knowingly allowing adverts from websites which are trying to download malicious viruses? Whilst using the Chrome browser on my phone I've just had a pop up message saying my Android operating system needs updating to continue viewing the website, it was quite a convincing message apart from the fact I know that I'm using the latest OS. Fortunately, the Tapatalk app seems immune to these adverts/messages so far.

I'm not sure how to help with phone problems, but to get rid of ads on the computer you could always install the 'adblock' add-on on chrome

How ironic that the first time the pop ups have happened to me in a while is when I opened this thread!
Doing my Dam swede in to be honest. It loads two pages and tries to make you download something from the Play store(android).
