A coincedence or a sign?
Just had a quick look to see what position Chesham were in the Evo Stick Premier.
Turns out they're 17th, one place below and on the same points as Hitchin.
I was there in 1995 when Hitchin beat a strong Rovers side 2-1 in the first round of the cup.
That Rovers side was better than todays and only narrowly missed out on what are now the league one play off's. Finishing 10th, 3 places and 10 points ahead of City.
Hopefully the fact that Sunday's opponents are in an almost identical position isn't a sign of a similar shock result.
Given our home record and last years shambles against Bath, I'm not taking anything for granted.

That was the first time I ever used the supporters coach, on the way back the coach in front got T-Boned by a lorry coming out of a junction, it didnt stop, went straight into the side of the coach. I heard they didnt get back to Bristol till 6AM!!! I also remember having a cup of tea at half-time, and it was served in a china cup!!!

Not overlooking Sunday but in the interest of fairness aren't the Dorchester side we beat 7-1 last season also above Chesham in the table?

Chances are 9 times out of 10 we win Sundays game comfortably. However there are always cup upsets and after watching Hitchin beat a Rovers team fighting for a place in the Championship I've learned not to take anything for granted. Noone expected us to lose 2-0 to Bath last season but we were awful that day and the better team won.

The accident involving the coach and lorry had absoultely nothing to do with me. Tboned indeed.

It's the cup upsets happen huge incentive for the them and nothing to fear as even a thrashing is no shame. On the other hand however convincingly the Rovers win it will be no more than expected and anything short of a win will be an embarrasment.

I was on one of the supporters coaches that day, not the T-Boned one, thank goodness. Remember it all kicking off after the game, and some guys in a garage across the road arming themselves with exhaust pipes to protect their premises. Hopefully today will not turn into one of those FA Cup nightmares results.

Wasn't it Archer who scored or is my memory not what it was?
