The ref wasn't even looking at the Sinclair one it happened behind him! All the others were clear cut bookings . The Sinclair was the one that got me because it is considered dangerous play if the guy puts his head down too far. Bearing in mind how much taller than Sinclair he is then he had to have ducked. The ref also lectured at least 4 of their players but just booked ours We all except that they make errors of judgement on split second things during a match but this is just inconsistency on matters where he had time to make a proper judgement call

That not much has been said about the statistics that Rovers committed 8 fouls and Carlisle 12. Bookings were Rovers 5 And Carlisle 0 There was a discussion about this on the match thread. I wasn't at the game but made the observation from the BBC text info that we had 4 bookings for 8 fouls and them none from 12. It seems from the answers here and on that thread that the ref was a bit over zealous, but perhaps technically correct, for us but not consistent in applying the law toward Carlisle. Anyway as others have said, the two goals and three points are the important stats, as long as the bookings don't tot up and give us issues later in the season.

Brown was booked for a trip from behind.
Parkes and Macca for (horrible phrase) professional fouls.
All 3 textbook yellows.
I saw lots of niggling fouls from them but nothing that needed booking.
He wasn't a great ref and I just think he is one of those who doesn't book for persistent fouling but I feel he had no option but to book 3 of ours.

What about the almost identical professional foul on Easter in front of the Dribuild ? And the "assault" on Sinclair in the centre circle the shocker on Parkes, plus persistent fouling by the same 1 or 2 players? Perhaps if it was Fifa 16 the ref interpreted the rules perfectly but surely any real life ref would have even given Carlisle the odd card, or a Rovers player the odd let off.

Didn't see the Easter one.
Can't remember the Sinclair one.
Ill give you the Parkes one though. He could have booked him there, yeah.

The ref was a bit of a plonker to be honest the Carlisle number 23 should been off within the first hour he committed at leat 4 cynical fouls before he got booked the, granted apart from the Beard the bookings were warranted but let's have a bit of consistency (can't accuse him of being a Homer) ?

Istm either a no-fault, unfortunate coming together, as the ref was at pains to signal to the crowd several times, or, as I saw it, a criminal, studs-up, over-the-ball, nailed-on red. I'd like to see the replay.

No, he was the biggest away-er I can recall. Luckily there were no big decisions that needed to be made. Their 23 wasn't even booked. The ref just gave him a talking to, at least twice. Istr he had a word with him for elbows in the first ten minutes. Not sure what that was about, but the ref clearly signalled he thought it was an elbow, and then didn't do anything except chat about it. wtf?!

One thing that stood out to me yesterday was the fantastic noise created from the blackthorn end. I've been standing there since we've moved to the mem and I sing my heart out every game but I was in a box last night right at the other end next to the tent in box 18 and f**k me hearing the noise bellowing out from that big home end was f**king magnificent and made me so proud to be a Gashead. No wonder away fans often come on here and say that they've always liked us and things like the other lot are a bunch of tossers but we're alright. I don't know how loud the blackthorn was compared to normal because like I said it's the first time in hundreds maybe probably thousands of games that I've been too when I haven't been right in the middle of it. It was my daughters first game , she's two , she loved it and recognised goodnight Irene because it's how I get her to sleep ( by singing it to her) she fell asleep in my arms in the second half and missed both goals but I'm one very proud Gashead tonight and wouldn't swap my club for anything and all I can say to people who say the mem isn't fit for purpose is bullshit and goodnight Irene. Thought it was quiet in blackthorn yesterday I was in there

Hmm we definitely deserved our yellows, Sinclair kicked a player in the face and the others were professional fouls, Brown Parkes and Macca were all to stop Carlisles counter attacks, was it 5 bookings for us as I don't remember another?? Maybe they should have had a booking as well but I for one wasn't complaining about ours, and we won 2-0 so I wasn't complaining about anything really lol
