What did he say? Seems there was a lot of praise on Twitter, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

Copied from FB . . .
There are moments in life when someone says something that is totally spot on. In front of 6,423 people my great friend Nick Day, introduced a minutes silence to the football supporters who were gathered to watch Bristol Rovers V Carlisle United in Division 2 of the Football League. It was Nick's idea to play Le Marseillaise prior to the silence, as the music faded this is what he said and had written... "Last night Paris was attacked in a brutal and terrifying way by cowards who would threaten our freedom by killing innocent men and women. It seems at least 128 people have lost their lives with 200 more in hospital many of them critically injured. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our French cousins. Whoever these people think their God is, they will never defeat us. We will not surrender to terrorists and cowards. Vive la France. There will now be a minutes silence as a mark of respect and solidarity."

Thanks, am in Amsterdam rather than Paris this weekend with the girlfriend purely because the flights were cheaper, we would have been in la carillon on Friday had the Paris flights been cheaper.

The sentiments were right, but I wonder how true they'll prove to be. Charlie Hebdo stopped doing its cartoons of Mohammed and all the freedom of speech rhetoric was soon toned down and qualified. Will the French people stand for future actions against Isis, or will they want to back off?
Anyway, he spoke well and it was well handled at the match today.
