I think JC deserves a special mention after yesterday's game.
He's been In and out the team all season. Understandably so- He's not quite first choice in either position this season. But he never puts a foot wrong. Many a footballer might sulk or feel under appreciated but JC just keeps going. These are the players a squad needs to be successful.
When there top goalscorer came on yesterday, JC marked him out the game. Fantastic signing. Hugely important player so far this season.

Totally agree, a model Pro and just the type I like to see in a blue and white shirt. He was very close to being my man of the match.

Also, deceptively quick for someone who plays centre back.

J Clarke and Lockyer would be my 1st choice centre backs.

Surely Parkes marked Carlisle top goalscorer/CF when he came on yesterday, as far as JC never making a mistake surely he allowed the Chesham goal scorer a free shot at goal last weekend? Having said all that I agree JC had a good game yesterday.
If yesterday is anything to go buy I do wonder if we play better football with Parkes in the team than Lockyer, even if the latter his less error prone, something interesting for DC to ponder this week?

Thought he was excellent yesterday. In fact I thought he was better than Lines overall.

What I saw- Ibhere kept coming out wide for the ball. And Clarke immediately took the responsibility to pick him up. By all means Parkes played well too. The 'never making a mistake' is overstatement but I didn't expect to be called out for that goal. For me the goalkeeper and CMs should've done better on that occasion. Had Clarke closed down he'd of left the left back the freedom of that flanked. I did however expect to be called out for the Cambridge Goal, perhaps he could've stopped the cross? I just think the mans got a great attitude and has been a wonderful signing.

James Clarke and Tom Lockyer at centre back for me; its all about opinions, you can also make a case for Parkes and mcchrystal as well.

Don't want to tempt fate but he just seems solid every time I see him play, calm as well like mccrystal, great to have selection dilemmas in that position for a change.

its a bit weird having 6 good league 2 defenders Think that's it in a nutshell. Our defence looks very strong and a case can be made for all of them to be in the team. JC has done really well. Against the better teams at right back he can be less effective but against the other teams he's ok. Probably a better centre half bit we are well off for that position. Still in first part of his pro career. Wish we would use his one throw on more occasions. Well done JC. UTG!!

Tom L is going to the Championship in January so Big Mac and Clarkey will be the partnership that takes us into the play offs, both are no nonsense great performers, however thought Parkesy played well yesterday. Prefer Dan at right back personally.

Prefer Dan at right back personally. He's a decent player at this level but given is distribution is hardly the best you do have to wonder if he's ready for a move straight to the Championship, Smith was probably a more consistent player at this level and he only moved to Div 1 where he still remains. I can't recall DC ever playing McM & JC together seemingly favouring him with Parkes, odd how for all Leadbitter's attacking play this season both goals yesterday came via our right flank!
