Former Sunderland and Carlisle United winger on lookout for new club following end of Yeovil Town trialBy rpeasland | Posted: July 23, 2014 Winger Andy Welsh’s bid to earn a contract at Yeovil Town appears to have come to an end. Welsh has been training with the Glovers and featured in pre-season friendlies against Reading and Bristol Rovers. The 30-year-old previously played more than 100 games for the Huish Park outfit before leaving for Carlisle United in 2011. He returned to south Somerset this summer as a free agent in search of a new club, but he has taken to Twitter to wish the Glovers all the best, signalling an end to his potential affiliation with the club. He tweeted; “Would like to thank everyone at YTFC for the last week and the reception me and my family got from everyone at the club in the last two games. “I wish the club, players and fans good luck for the 2014 / 2015 season, I hope you can achieve promotion once again #glovers” He continued to say that he is feeling fit and ready for a new challenge and appealed to any clubs on the lookout for a winger to sign him up.Manager Gary Johnson is due to make further decisions on former Nottingham Forest man Simon Gillett and two unnamed trialists.
