Do you think we will get the 50/51 points normally required to be safe.

We won't get anywhere near play offs, but will survive comfortably

I'd be quite happy to make mid table tbf. Anything is better than being back in the national league

Looks like about 35 points might be enough looking at some of those teams at the bottom.

Mass hysteria once again.
Our home form does need to improve. However, ultimately all that matters is our point haul.
Had we have beaten Crawley on the weekend, which we certainly deserved too and would have on another day, we'd be within touching distance of the playoffs.
I know it's all ifs and buts and ultimately it comes down to goals scored; but performance wise, we played well. With that in mind, I think talk of relegation is utterly ludicrous.
We are 4 points off of the playoffs and 14 off of relegation; until that swings the other way, I will not entertain the possibility of relegation for even a split second.
Some people seriously need to have a word with themselves.

As a fanbase we're a bit of a caricature at times though - we're absolutely obsessed with relegation and promotion battles and we're desperate to relate every result to one or the other. We need to learn that sometimes a mid-table finish is okay for a club in certain situations. Finishing mid-table would be by no means a disaster for us, and it looks like that's where we're headed.

We need to learn that sometimes a mid-table finish is okay for a club in certain situations. Finishing mid-table would be by no means a disaster for us, and it looks like that's where we're headed. Spot on. Almost everyone said they'd be happy with mid-table a the start of the season. Their expectations may have been different; but that's what they said they'd be happy with. Yet we are mid-table and suddenly everything is sh*t. Within touching distance of the playoffs, the transfer window about to open where we may yet strengthen further and one of the best away records in the country. I appreciate the home form is unacceptable but, overall, I don't think things are going too badly (on the pitch); certainly an acceptable standard IMO. People need to relax. Nothing is won or lost in November. There are signs we could yet make the playoffs; we are creating chances against every team, have a never say die attitude and a great away record. All we need to do is become more clinical in front of goal and we will almost certainly knick a playoff spot which would be excellent.

We be fair to the fan base DC said before last night's game both the players and even he would be out of a job if we didn't make the top 7, so that must be the target set by NH?
At the end of the day you can hardly aim to finish mid table as there's always the chance you'll get drag into the relegation fight for the wrong 70 minutes of a season!
If we can sign a decent striker we could well still be promotion candidates.

I just meant that IF we were to finish midtable, I'd be happy. If NH has set us a target of atop 7 finish, then he should bloody well give DC a budget to match that ambition.

I'd then expect us to really challenge next year. But definitely happy with mid table this year.

Me personally, I'm not going to rule out the play offs until it is mathematically impossible. We are having a blip right now but that could soon change. The fat lady is not even in the country yet let alone ready to sing. Keep the faith. We must be patient and get behind the lads.

I'd keep hold of Gosling, still a developing young player who's good in a squad with few wingers. Bliss is a top bloke who tries but unfortunately just isn't good enough, Montano is a waste of both space and money.

If that is the case I woyld keep him as a squad player.
