I'd keep hold of Gosling, still a developing young player who's good in a squad with few wingers. Bliss is a top bloke who tries but unfortunately just isn't good enough, Montano is a waste of both space and money. Gos for me depends on wages. I can't imagine he is on much. If that is the case I woyld keep him as a squad player. Go's not on much!! BUT HE'S A INTERNATIONAL?

I'm not forgetting play offs. I fully believe we can get into top 7 this year.

Personally I think we'll finish between 14th-9th, although if we can sort out our home form and are in the top 10 before Christmas I think play offs is doable.

As a fanbase we're a bit of a caricature at times though - we're absolutely obsessed with relegation and promotion battles and we're desperate to relate every result to one or the other. We need to learn that sometimes a mid-table finish is okay for a club in certain situations. Finishing mid-table would be by no means a disaster for us, and it looks like that's where we're headed. When you've had as many relegation battles as us recently it's little wonder people get nervous easily. A team like Morecambe who never seem to have any worries probably don't hit panic stations after a couple of poor results.

I think talk of the playoffs and DC "demanding a top 7 finish" was all a bit far fetched anyway more likely to be bottom 7 as long as we finish 3 from bottom eh!

Without wishing to sound like Richhertford, why are us fans so quick to throw in the towel?
We were 8th with a game in hand two games ago. We've since lost 2 games that by general consensus we didn't deserve to lose and now we'll be lucky if we stay up?
Yes there are things which need improving but we still have the basis of a very competitive team in this division. Keep the faith!

Do you think we will get the 50/51 points normally required to be safe. Go and collect those anti depressants. Don't need anti depressants. Just deal in facts as they are, home form utter rubbish to date, away form fantastic to date. With the present squad of which is reliant on Taylor to score, the first priority should be, get to the 50 point mark, and from there the next priority would be, if possible aim for playoffs or finish as high as possible. As stated don't need any tablets, quite happy with our position at the moment but let's get to 50 points and see what happens. Don't want to be looking over our shoulder come the new year.

I mean yeah, technically our aim will always be 'get to the 50 point mark'. But if DC said that tbh i'd want him sacked. Our aim should be top 7, midtable ACCEPTABLE, finishing just above relegation would be absolutely sh**e. And I do not expect us to be aiming for 50 points I expect us to be aiming for a lot more, otherwise we really aren't going the right direction.

14 clear of relegation with a game in hand and 4 from the playoffs with a game in hand.
Does anyone ever check the table before creating threads like this?

Shankly apparently once said to the Liverpool team when they had reached the probable safe points to avoid relegation, 'Right then, we're not going to get relegated'. At the time they were running away with the league and I am sure he had a target well above avoiding relegation. So, for me, top 7 target, happy with mid table but glad when we do reach 50 ish points.

No pushing of any panic buttons when starting this thread, as regarding checking the table, exactly my point, comfortable with our season so far, if the away form faltered slightly, with no sign of the home form improving those 14 points would soon disappear. Get the 50 first then move onwards and upwards

We won't get anywhere near play offs, but will survive comfortably Not having a go or anything like, but do you still feel the same? Its amazing what a few weeks can do. On the flip side we could go on a sh**e run and finish mid-table.

I'd be really disappointed if we didn't finish in the top 7 now, even abit gutted if we finish 4th and narrowly miss out the automatics. Looking back now I just didn't see the strength in the squad to be right up there with the promotion chasers but I've certainly seen some quality the last 10 games to think otherwise. I'm not one of those fans who lose their minds if we lose a game and I think even if we have a don't go on a good run this month we'll still be top 7 at the end of the season.
