What dc should of said is: he's been lucky in the last few weeks the wind has helped him out he normally can't hit a barn door but we still love him,in the changing rm he's a pain in the arse too always messing about giving all my players dead legs with his massive main sail but we love him and he's here until he retires like me  He didn't say anything to sky though as far as I'm aware? yes he did, thats what the thread is about. Sky brought up facts about the pair of them after the interview. |

Amazing what a hattrick can do!
1 goal would have won us the game and we wouldn't have this inflated BS.
He might go 5 games now without scoring ffs.
It would be nice if we could just quietly plug away without the distractions tbh.

Would we rather keep him for next season in League 1, or take £500k from some Championship outfit so we can recruit a few decent players? Hahaha. A few decent players to help us push up the leagues? |

Bound to have been clubs sniffing already this season, seems to me DC is talking up MT's value.
...as is par for the course with managers these days. Indicates to me we've had serious interest

Is Taylor number 2? |

I think some people need a reality check. I rate Matty but one not even half season and a bit of praise on Sky Sports isn't gonna make mega people pay mega bucks for him. Equally For MT not to sign a contract extension at this point would be a bit short sighted on his part.

Clubs have paid daft money in the past after half a season or so plus Taylor's goal scoring streak goes back around 2 years as he hit 7 in 7 whilst on loan at Chester so that's 40 goals in less than 2 full seasons. As far as MT signing an extension I guess he can only sign one if we offer him one, problem now is does he sign one or sit and wait and see if a Div 1 club shows an interest in January?

Indicates to me we've had serious interest At the moment the only value he has to us is on the pitch. Anyone above us who wants to gamble on him long-term can 'sign him for next season' from January. Any serious interest between now and then only increases his wages if he does sign a new contract with us. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but as there's been no word of a new contract offered in November (when he was already on 6 goals for the season) we've missed a trick there... |
