I know the entire Team put in a great shift last night but I think Gaffney needs a short thread of his own. Didn't go to Exeter but heard he looked promising and last night I saw why. Held the ball up well which means rather than the clearances coming straight back we hsve a chance to come foreward. Nice touch and ran all game.
Looks a great partner for Taylor.
Can we keep him?

Yeah, thought he did great and seems to be exactly what we are looking for. Istm Taylor can do better with a contrasting played alongside him. Was excellent at harrying their back line. Ironically, really, he had no part at all in any of the goals.

I thought he was brilliant last night and if rumours are right then he's not 100% fit yet so there's still more to come.
Based on the Exeter reports and seeing him last night, hopefully we can sign him up permanently as he is what we signed Bliss to be!

Totally agree having seen both games. Thinking about the game on the way home, I felt Gaffney at last was what we have been looking for up front, (winning headers and holding the ball up front) and then when Bodin came on we what the best of all worlds I.e. Freeing up Taylor to do what he does best.

Like the look of him a lot - love to see us try and sign him permanently next month (may require a fee though?).
Holds the ball up really well, chases everything down, quick feet to make space for a shot, good passer of the ball, solid touch.
Led the line really well last night.

I just remember that Blissett looked good in one game against us and look what happened after he signed. If Gaffney looks as good at the end of his loan period, yes he would be worth giving a contract until the end of the season.
I do not want us to jump in too early as we have been down that route to often in the past.
Perhaps we could consider a swop, Gaffney for Blissett.

Perfect foil for Mattee Tbone, think he is the smash we have been missing, have three grabs in Mattee, Jermaine and Ellis.

Listening to the radio a fan after the game said the same, hopefully Gaffney,if he keeps his performance level, will enjoy his time here and want to stay which would help in getting him permanently

I thought he worked really hard chasing down and working the wings. This took pressure off of Matty T who usually has to do all the running.
He may not of been directly involved in the goals, but he was the reason Matty T was fresh enough to take the chances when they came.

Wishful thinking, can't see Cambridge being interested in Bliss.

Wishful thinking, can't see Cambridge being interested in Bliss. He was there on loan two years ago, scored two goals in seven games. U's fans were divided, some thought he was ok,some less impressed describing him as 'a bit like watching Bambi on ice'!

Might be wrong but I have a gut feeling Blissett will join Lincoln permanently in January. A bit like us last season.

So should he play well Lincoln will take that option. To be honest- I can't believe that Bliss is a big bucks earner. I don't think it's a case of 'needing' to offload him. Remember we currently have 3 loan players. But lets talk about... Gaffney How the hell is not in the Cambridge team... we've found something here. I'd love him to sign. Taylor, Gaffney, Easter and Harrison as our squad strikers- corr blimey.

But lets talk about... Gaffney How the hell is not in the Cambridge team... we've found something here. I'd love him to sign. Taylor, Gaffney, Easter and Harrison as our squad strikers- corr blimey. Maybe he doesn't slot into their preferred starting XI in much the same way we've had trouble finding front-men who could slot in alongside our existing squad members. Think of the flexibility in our frontline now. Whether you're a fan of changing formation regularly or not I think that's four strikers who you could start in a variety of combinations (and indeed positions, playing deeper or wider if needed)....although after watching his 90 minutes last night Gaffney seems like he needs to play as he'll improve whoever is picked alongside him....
