All about opinions football. I saw Monkhouse work his socks off at both ends of the field better than any of our widemen options this season. Sure they are all faster than him but that just means they lose it faster And have no inclination to track back. Also Monky could deliver a decent ball - Browner is still making the runs this year but the quality of the link up play is not nearly as good and that is not Browners fault ! He's put more crosses over this season so far than he did the whole of last so that is rubbish

Wether Monkhouse would still be linking up with Brown against the better defenders this season though, we will never know

I don't think a midfielder that scored double figures is anything to be scoffed at. Can't remember too many doing that in recent memory for us that have done the same.
I rated monk house but agree that he may well have 'done his job' so to speak

The only good thing about him was if we made profit shipping him out.

Answer: 4 How many of our central midfielders got more than 5 goals last season? Answer: 0 How many goals have our midfielders scored between them so far this season? Answer: 6 at an average of 1.5 per playing position. We need more goals from midfield. Whether Monky would have provided them we will never know, but he more than pulled his weight last year.

Didn't say he wasn't from Leeds he would never of been good enough to play for them anyway,Hartlepool closer than Grimsby and league 2

How many games did he start in the conference? Pretty much all of them. I don't get your point. If you look at the stats his goals per game was well above any of our other midfielders last season, and we don't have anyone replicating those stats this season either.

I just didn't rate him I'm not arguing just what I think, would we be better with him?? Nope he would slow us down and every goal kick would be pumped up for him to header rather than looking to pass it about from defence Would we have gone up without him?? Yes we would, did he score v the better teams I don't remember Would say Ellis late on in season scored the most important goals in pretty lucky scrappy 1 0 away wins This season our alround passing game is much better and not just pumped up looking for monkey to flick it on to nobody

Ellis' goals late on would have been irrelevant without AM's goals earlier on.

I can't understand what the argument is all about as clearly Monkey was good enough last season as he was never dropped, whether he would have also been good enough this season is anybodies guess. Just to say he wasn't good enough as Hartlepool didn't re-sign Monkey his daft as did we ever accept we were wrong and re-sign Elliott or Disley? But given Montano nor Gosling have set Div 2 alight then Monkey could well still be our No. 11
