If I was MT, I wouldn't be signing any contracts that are worth less than what Easter is on. I always said Easter was a poor signing and it seems his large wage will be a starting point for any players who are doing better than him. I'm not sure about this at all. Taylor's improvement could be down to Easters presence at the club. They were singing his praises in the player interviews pre season. I would have thought the younger players look up to him and strive to play at the level he has played at. Taylor can't expect to go from non league/first year pro wages to top money in 5 months can he? I'm sure his agent will tell him he can.

It seems that Matty Taylor has turned down the offer of a new contract and may well be on his way. Not sure if his contract is up in January or the end of the season, but at his age, I don't believe we can enforce a selling fee. If the contract is to the end of the season, then it could well be that we will look for a fee in January. I'm told he wanted a new contract earlier in the season, but was told to wait. It now seems the boot is on the other foot and he is no longer willing to sign. My opinion is that he has not proved much yet, as can be seen by the number of one on ones he misses, but he obviously has something there. However, I feel he owes DC if not the club, and should be prepared to sign on the basis we will let him go for a reasonable fee. But this is probably another mess up caused by our lack of funds due to the appeal in January.
Nottingham Forest seem to be sniffing around, but even though I don't believe he could hack it at championship level, very few lower down could pay him more than we could if we had made an offer earlier. The obvious question here is:- where did you get this information from? You say it seems MT has turned down a contract offer; who told you, where did you read this? I know the Evil is pretty Shute, but I would have thought one of their journos would have picked that one up, and we all know the alacrity they display when printing bad news about the Gas. Gasincider. there is a very simple way to validate this thread. Please reveal your source. or do you enjoy being a WUM?

So if I said that a source I had was ........... I'm sure that person would continue to feed info in the future, not.

I know several people at the club personally. I grew up with two of them. I only post info if at least two of them ( not the two I've known since childhood) say the same thing completely separate from each other. But as you asked me it was NH. I'm having another have a go at NH day. Gotta go, I've got school tomorrow.

Not sure what the fuss is all about. If he keeps scoring goals he'll be gone. It's always been that way at Rovers.

DC has built a squad, a team, and considering what he inherited, that is a massive achievement. Matty is a part of that and I'd be sorry to see him go. But they would get on with it and I see no need to beg him with massive sums to stay. Strength in depth, in relative terms for the level at least, means we shouldn't be too worried. That said i'd be well watered off if there wasn't some cash in it for us to spend elsewhere! So hope he stays on a decent wage, if he goes hope we get some cash, either way we will be fine

Some people need to be careful what they wish for.
The continued harassing of posters who pass on information and rumours will easily stop when you have driven them all away.
By all means respectfully question and feel free to doubt what you are told but remember a few things....
Are you happy to rely solely on the information given by the OS?
Are the little stories that get broken or discussed here worthwhile?
What will the forum be like once you have driven all the posters who pass on information away?
What would you do if you had been told something interesting or important?
Personally, I wouldn't post a single thing on here anymore, its just not worth the grief from certain posters. Too many now just want to attack and discredit anyone who may have found out something they haven't.
I do (and have) pull up posters where I feel there has been pointless "I know something you don't and I'm not telling you" posts but this thread just seems to be fairly straightforward.

There's a 231 page thread on the first page of the forum which explains why people are sceptical re: rumours. Was the same on the old forum, and is the same here. I don't blame the people on here - they may merely be messengers - but the people who stir up false rumours for whatever reason. Unfortunately the BS/fact ratio is MASSIVELY in favour of BS when it comes to forum rumour. There's a difference between discussing actual, semi-evidence based stuff (e.g. a newspaper article suggesting team X is interested in Taylor) but most of the time its based on nothing. ITK people are boring, and usually wrong. I don't think there is one consistent ITK on here actually. It leads to mundane talk about what is effectively hearsay (or even less than that), which only leads to splits amongst members etc.

If he is to leave, then the only questions to ask are whether Harrison or Easter would have taken the chances that have been created! If yes, then no need to worry!!!
We sold Gary Penrice once, and replaced him with Carl Saunders who went on to benefit from the chances made by the players that remained at the club! The answer is No, Harrion has not the first touch of Taylor and Easter with all his skill has no pace

Errr
- a high percentage of Rovers players are out of contract at the end of the season - Rovers have begun discussions with a number of those players who are performing at the level required by the manager (top seven quality). This includes preliminary offers. - Players and their Agents are reviewing the offers and are waiting to see if the next few weeks may see an improvement to these terms due to either performances, negotiation or outside interest - Some other clubs of varying levels are monitoring our better players and may decide to move on one or more of them when the window opens - Matty Taylor will be one of those players where contract negotiations are proceeding and Nottingham Forest may be one of the clubs who have sent scouts to our games to run the rule over the second most prolific striker at L2 level currently...however, those scouts may have reported that Leads, Locks or Browner might be worth a punt instead!
......and the story here is what exactly??? Are we to be indignant that MT did not immediately sign ? Is there any particular sense of disloyalty? Is anyone surprised someone is weighing up the abilities of the player concerned? No, no and no. Is this business as usual? Yes. Carry on then.

The information that is passed might be true at the time but not plan out-typical of so many moving parts. I would rather read snippets of info from claimants than ONLY BS, wouldn't you?

I sense what winds certain posters up is the hideen message in these updates which is usually anti NH such as:-
"But this is probably another mess up caused by our lack of funds due to the appeal in January."
I sense that's just guess work by the OP and he doesn't really know why MT hasn't been offered/signed a new contract?
