Hi,
My daughter and I normally sit in the East Stand, but for the Orient game thought we'd try standing in the West Enclosure.
Is the standing area on the West side covered? I can't quite tell from my usual position, but I don't want to get soaked if it's peeing down.
UTG!

It's just about covered. However when the rain is swirling or coming across the pitch you get wet in the front half. If you can get near the back you should stay dry.

Ah - thanks for the reply, I think I'll give it a go.
I find the wind generally blows towards the East stand. You can be sat quite far up and still get soaked on a bad day.

You could try getting a seat there just behind the terrace? Bit further back again then, I've made a point of watching in every part of the ground now and east is obviously the best view, it's weird watching from the other side I'll tell you that much but it's still a good view.

Used to stand in the west enclosure before progressing to the east stand seats and I would recommend that if the weather forecast is bad arrive early and stand by the back wall.

Stand by the players tunnel, first gangway, great atmosphere and also you get to here Gordon's classic dry wit abuse, worth the entrance fee alone, well, Newport game springs to. mind. Seasons greetings.

I went up there one day when ground was empty & really surprised seats all the way to the back were wet. I don't suppose we need a new stadium do we? :-)

Thanks for the advice all. My daughter is only 10 so I don't think she's ready for the Blackthorn yet! Family Enclosure is an awful view, and I always like standing near the half-way line. Remember being in the tote as a kid, great atmosphere but behind the goal and a mile from the pitch - difficult to see why it was so popular! mehewmagic - new stadium would be nice, are there plans for one then? ;-) UTG!
