Well after a great result and great crowd it would be fantastic if we could keep a few more of the floating support to carry on coming but i cannot see it happening until we eventually get a new ground. Standing in the Blackthorn today was so typical of when we get bigger crowds stairways gangways with lots of people standing in, as well as lots of people with children who could not see as some people who were stood at the front would not move for the smaller ones, also the family enclosure was full (by the look of it) so whilst we are stuck in our outdated stadium why can we not make the most of the wasted space bring back the Guinness tent, extend the south tent etc. Ok we may not fill our ground all the time but if more young familys could watch the game in comfort it may encourage them to keep coming back plus improve the all round atmosphere. UTG.

We may well have too. Could this be plan B.

I don't think it is floating support. It's never the same crowd bar say 4-5k regulars, today was a holiday game and the extra numbers reflect that. Nowadays a lot of Gasheads can't make every Saturday, be it work, distance, finances or family. I do agree though, the south stand should be extended, if only to increase away capacity. And as always, more could be done to attract families/sons and dads.
Great effort today Gas, was fantastic.

I loved it in the Blackthorn today. Packed in, tense atmosphere, loud singing and a winning goal under our noses.

Perhaps if we go up it maybe something to think about for next summer, although BCC will probably now refuse pp!

Holiday game with the "extra" bank holiday and after the run of good results when people can't make Saturdays and being away on the normal boxing day. Should get a good crowd on the 2nd but I think the "cat a" is going to hurt it for Plymouth. Personally next game is going to be Oxford away.

Short term I think the tent end should be extended, when the likes of Pompey come to the mem it would pay for itself.
However unfortunately the club are still short sighted on attracting families and new generation of fans.
There are no incentives for families, schools etc. Very rarely do you see any activities on a match day to draw in the crowds.
Who's to blame?

9,000 plus Bristolians in our s**t tip of a ground on a cold December day to watch league two at our prices just shows that the support is here and always will be. How ever well the S**t are doing a large section of Bristol are always going to identify with us. We can only hope that one day someone comes along to take control of the club who can take this club forward and show the ambition that has been lacking for far too long.

Aren't the Cat A game prices to cover the extra policing costs, rather than the quality of opposition? If not, then it is a joke in this league.

Rovers give well over 50 tickets every game to kids groups and local sports teams. They also give free season tickets to U11s with each full ST paying adult My boy gets a Xmas and birthday card from the club through the young pirates which really makes his day. Almost every home game the players come out at the end of the match and will happily sign autographs and pose for photos and chat to the kids. They gave kids coaching through the summer holidays and the open day and open training sessions last season were fantastic. Aside from quid a kid for pay on the day customers I'm struggling to think of anything more they could practically do on a match day for the kids? Possibly some on field entertainment but that runs the risk of watering off your core punters.

I agree the club does a lot for young fans, however the U11 cut off has stung me this year. My 2 are now 12 and 13 so it costs me just over a tenner for each of them (still not terrible I guess), but then factor in food for 3 of us and a programme - there's 20quid plus petrol for a 2hr round trip and there's no change from £50 for 3 of us to watch league 2 football...and that's not counting my season ticket!!
To be fair, the kids would come for the curry pie alone, but I wouldn't mind the burden being eased on my wallet!!

Not sure you can blame the club for the fact you live an hour's drive away but even your fuel cost is around 50% less than it would have been a couple of years ago? Food wise it's easy to make a saving just bring your own!! the fact yesterday's gate was nearly 10K suggests if we play decent football then the fans will turn up in numbers.

Don't forget that despite not having family facilities, the alternative, is far less family friendly.
How do mums and dad's feel when sections of AG are chanting "csf csf"? City has a large hooligan contingent, and I've seen some amusing letters to the BEP before - middle class fathers writing in "we followed city away in Cardiff and we got trapped in the train with some frightfull fans - being aggressive, urinating and sniffing drugs"!!! I just have this image of the perfect family with the insane element of BCFC coked up on a rampage.....feel sorry for them but if you pick your club on facilities without noting the 30 year tradition of ground burning, extreme football violence, hoarding throwing, pitch invading because they have nice seats....You kind of deserve it!
All the money in lansdowns offshore bank account can't buy your way away from those thugs. they'll follow you regardless.
We have a GENuine minority of thugs. They have quite a big minority. Observe OTIB and see how much more frequent violence and hooliganism are present and tolerated.
