I see that over on "One Turd in Bristol" the Teds have started a thread titled "Playing Bristol Rovers next season"!
Apart from a few who accept we have done really well over the last 18 months, most of them seem to be holding their heads and crying at the shame and embarassment of having to compete in league fixtures against us!
I'm not counting any chickens, we might go up via the play-offs, but I fully expect that Saint Sir Steve will spend inordinate amounts of money to keep the Sh!t in the Championship. But, oh how I love reading their self pitying whining! I can imagine them squirming on their cheap leather DFS sofas in their Knowle West front rooms as they struggle to compose coherent sentences on the (stolen) laptop.
Happy days. Who said that?

A bit premature all round. Let's wait until May before considering the prospect.

Good enough players didn't wanna join them them in August when he had all the money to spend, why would they wanna join them now? I'm sure they'll make signings, but will they be the significant signings that will save them from relegation? Under that manager I think not. As for us, January is a massive month in both player recruitment, player retention and the fixture list, if we can sign some good enough players as well as hold on to our own (which I think we shall) then we have a good chance, this month of fixtures reads as by far the toughest of the season, if we come through this month with a good points return then I believe we can go all the way, for me this month is what's gonna decide our season

The thing is if they come down and should be competing at the top of league 1 next season then this season will soon be forgotten and Cotts, if still there, and Steve Letdown will be heroes again with blossoming already huge egos. The question for the Chairman is does he want to be a big fish in a small pond or does he want to risk his money on the team as well as the buildings and compete with the big boys in the Championship?

I am getting a bit of deja vue here. Last time I heard about the shrinking gap, we got relegated. Now there is about zero chance of that happening this season but let's not count chickens.
