That's the end of it then. Afterall Lee Brown also said the he enjoyed playing with Monkhouse...and that got added to the Bayeux Tapestry didn't it! Gosling therefore is the most naturally gifted footballer that we have. to be fair monkhouse did very well for us and lee brown trains with the squad day in day out so i'll trust his opinion over the know it alls who post on here . he also said ellis harrison was the most influential player in the dressing room but why let facts get in the way of slagging off valued members of our squad. I'm in agreement with Lee Brown. You've rolled out that last line meaning what? What facts, and who has slagged anybody off?

I would but I can't resist. Monkhouse gets a mention on here regularly and to be honest, he's hardly one of our greats! Why does the poster have a dig at Gosling? Hrs a decent player imo.

Really ! according to lee brown jake gosling is the most naturally gifted footballer at the club . That's the end of it then. Afterall Lee Brown also said the he enjoyed playing with Monkhouse...and that got added to the Bayeux Tapestry didn't it! Gosling therefore is the most naturally gifted footballer that we have. I'd agree that Gosling has the ability, but unfortunately he only shows us glimpses of it from time to time.

Like every winger he is going to be inconsistent but it is not helped by DC's regular changing from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2 and the fact that if a winger has a bad game they are IMMEDIATELY dropped, sometimes out of the entire squad. This does not happen to players in other positions half as much. I am not going to criticise DC because he is very successful at doing it but lets be fair to the players who are not getting Match fitness due to lack of regular games and being criticised for lack of ability whereas that might not be the case. The problem is ,whilst constant tinkering may be bringing results it is never going to bring the best out of those players who are in and out. Ok they are training everyday but always within football down the years it has been well known that there are good trainers and bad trainers. It does not help at all if players know that as soon as they have a bad game they will be dropped.

It's a pity DC couldn't afford Myrie-Willaims, as at least we know he has the ability to succeed in this Div.

My sort of thread! I'm so pleased have a manager that raises expectations. It's what great leaders do. It's what winners do. Aim high. I always thought we would be in the top seven. Its clear that with a bit of luck that we might surprise many. With DC in charge I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up in top three. That would be ground breaking for many! Bring it on!!

Topper Gas , I agree about Myrie Williams but to be fair to both Gosling and Montano I think you will find that Montano has not had a run of three games even and Gosling has had runs and has played well say for three games but then had a bad one and gets dropped. Thankfully the Manager has generally been proved right with the results but I can understand that both Gosling and Montano can feel roughly treated. The problem we have as I see it is that neither Leadbitter or Brown can consistently put a good cross in and very often hit the first opponent but to be fair unless Gaffney is there then we have little hope with the high crosses that generally are put in.
