Man United of the championship don't you Know! Well Lansdown did say he wanted to create a sporting institute like what Barcelona have so I suppose they should be dangling the carrot at Guardiola.

I've heard from many people that Oxford Manager Appleton is the man they want. His odds have tumbled overnight. He's more in their realistic range.

Lord Sugar moved 6 threads! One of which was discussing transfer targets of theirs!
I'm not going to make excuses for not wanting half of our front page dedicated to that disgusting club.
One thread on them is too many for me but I accept occasional water taking threads is ok.

Mike Bassett spotted entering the Ateyeo earlier apparently.... Heard his first two transfer targets are Ricky Lambert and Dan Butler.

Sadly, they have the money to appoint anyone of those if they want. If Mr Lansdown decides he wants another good crack at the title then he can afford to. I wouldn't too loud as they may surprise us.

You couldn't make it up, the Oxford manager is favourite!!
Let's hope he drops down to odds-on this afternoon to create a real drama in time for Sunday.
In all seriousness, Pearson is the 'biggest name' they could get realistically, and I don't think he'll go there.

Sorry, but a few people have said this now and I just don't buy it. Monk, Moyes, Di Matteo would all risk their careers for the sake of a few bob which they can get elsewhere? Most of them are already being paid off more money than City could offer! Every club in the Championship has money. By thinking they are the 'big boys', ready for promotion to the Premier League, they've left themselves in this situation.

Surely, the only man who can sort them out is Billy Smart.

Not every club has the money the they have like it or not. It's all down to Mr Lansdown and his desire to get into the promised land. The biggest risk is City's. If they appoint and back a big name and he fails......
Why wouldn't the Oxford manager be fav? He's doing a good job and has form for bailing when more money comes around.
I always worry when this happen across the road. One day they will get it right.

I won't like their new manager anyway but I would love it if it was another hateful tw*t like Warnock or Pearson.
Then I can really despise them.

Would like to see 'Harry' Monk go there, simply because he has got a great name that's easy to take the water out of.

They need someone who can keep them up, a firefighter type! Martin Allen could do it, and he'd probably do it without spending a penny!
Or fail and say that C*ty can't compete as they have no money!

Only ever going to be a short-term interim solution though to stabilise the boat as that's his strength. If they are looking longer term beyond staying up I don't think he would be the target or answer

Happy with this news if true - anything that distabilises Oxford before we play them can only help us

Him and the sh** would be well suited, as they are both vile, but I think the Letdowns would rather have someone they could Boss about and not sure Warnock would tolerate that
