Rovers wrapped it up in the first half. Very frosty conditions, worsening in the second half. Ryan Broom impressed, and good performances from Ollie Mehew, Danny Greenslade and Jay Malpas. Kieran Preston sound; one excellent turn over the bar in the first half, and could do little about their goal. Also great distribution for the 3rd(?) goal One to watch....Alfie Kilgour @ CB. Very solid and aware.

Ryan Broom looked head and shoulders above anybody on the pitch in terms of physicality and ability, Danny Greenslade looked very comfortable and his composure was on another level, he played like the more experienced player he is, I like the look of both centre backs (Confrey/Kilgour) and the previous Preston comment is spot on, looked very good to me, I'm excited to see if any of these boys eventually make the team

Broom's impressed me in the past. Really pacey... Wouldn't be surprised to see him make the bench soon.

I thought Broom was on loan at Taunton. Think we should look at getting him out on loan in the conference and see how he manages there.

Think that shows how close he is to first team in Darrell's eyes. Maybe a promotion run in isn't the best time for him to be tested, but we'll see. You could flip the coin and say it's actually the perfect time.

I actually didn't think Broom had his best game on the night, he scored a couple of goals (including a penalty), he is quick but can be frustrating when he runs into a hole when there are better options. He is young and will keep learning, he is definitely one for the future. I thought Greenslade looked strong and Mehew looked good going forward, he took his goal well and could exciting when he bulks up. I agree Malpas did well, I watched him a lot with U18 and he looked a good prospect, I think that was his first game in 2/3 months after breaking his ankle so that will build confidence and I hear he has already gone out on loan after one game. I like Preston, his vision and kick for the 3rd goal was excellent. Overall an impressive team performance, especially first half, on a difficult pitch.
