We should have held on. their move started when Montano put in a cross when he could have taken it to the corner, or ran in to the box. Still I thought he did well when he came on, and to be honest we could have gone 2-0 up just before then montano was very naive and most at fault for them scoring imo having watch the tv pics now i think Mildi was a bit slow getting down

We could have been 2 up by then anyway. I agree in part though, he would have been wiser to hold the ball up in th corner or keep possession.

It came through a crowd of players and was just a great finish, it was right in the corner. De Gea or Hart might have done better but even then I think it would have gone in. Sometimes you just have to give it to the lad who sticks it away. It was a great finish. We had 2 great chances to bury the game at 1-0 and didn't. So collectively the whole team are at fault. you can't pin anything on individuals.

I thought yesterday was a bloody good game of football between two evenly matched sides. ok it was a bit disappointing not to hold on to all three points for the last 10 minutes, but then they was always going to throw the kitchen sink at us in that last part of the game and be a threat. a lot of people would of took a point yesterday, and on the plus side we evenly matched the league leaders and maybe should of beat them.. so on that bases the next few months will be very interesting following the gas in the run in to the end of season.......UTG was gafneys goal off side? ??

Overall I thought they shaded it but we had a very strong 15 minutes around the time we scored and should have probably killed it off. Having said that they could have been out of sight by halftime.
Taylor obviously should have scored but I thought his all round game was decent and he looked the most likely to create something for someone else.
Would have taken a point with their away record before the game. Brilliant celebrations when we scored!

I thought we looked the better footballing side when we had the opportunity to play. Plymouths are a big physical side and they had the edge in that department, but I think If we had had a stronger ref it would have been a different game.

Hi chaps and chapesses,
I've just seen the highlights of your game. How revolting was Plymouth's kit? I know it's necessary in this modern commercial world, but why couldn't they have worn their traditional green?!
Looks like you had a decent crowd too?
What I can't get is how the media call both our games vs Argyle a 'derby' - isn't London closer to Bristol than Plymouth? I don't see our games vs Fulham and Brentford being called derbies!
It really annoyed me last season when Sky Sports called Exeter vs Cheltenham a 'derby' - such an over-used term by the media to hype up fixtures unnecessarily?
Exeter is 118 miles from Cheltenham!!!
Some on our forum even call Swansea our 'neighbours' FFS!
Anyway, hope you don't mind me popping on here, my dear departed Dad and Grandad were committed gasheads, my Grandad even drove your away coaches back in the '50s - including to your FA Cup tie at Newcastle, was that 1952?! Motorways weren't common then and it took bloody ages to get there apparently!
So, most of my life I've been faced with the special magic of a two club city rivalry, and boy did they wind me up when I was a nipper. If I had a quid for every time my Dad mentioned you beating Man U 4-0 in the FA Cup I could buyout Mr Lansdown and impose my own misguided policies on our under achieving club!
Got me own back though, after we beat you 1-2 in the FA Cup on Dec 10 1983 I met my Dad after the game, his exact words were "just get in the car and shut up.."
He was a good player my old man, trained with your lot when he was at school and I can't believe he let me watch my first game at Ashton Gate at the age of six...what was he thinking?!

Good post Br, agree with you on the derby thing. Out of interest, if your dad and grandad were gas, how did you go so badly off the rails?

Good post Br, agree with you on the derby thing. Out of interest, if your dad and grandad were gas, how did you go so badly off the rails? Well, obviously my memory isn't brill about times back then but apparently I moaned and moaned and moaned about wanting to go to a game and my Dad was so fed up of it he took me to Ashton Gate simply because City were at home that weekend, I know, it sounds ridiculous and unbelievable to hear that now. Mind you, it was City 0 Forest 2, the year before we hit the big time, and in my Dad's defence he took the p*ss loudly from first whistle to last which annoyed a lot of people around us, I remember cringing lots. I sort of think he did it just so we could have the inter-family rows! I can can still hear him now, from when I was really young, saying "oh, it's five past three City will be two down..." Also in his defence, he did drag me to Eastville a few times to try and convert me, but I just stayed true to the first game I'd ever attended....

Attachment DeletedBris, my Dad from Sandown Rd Brislington. He supported City but never sure why I chose Rovers but still travel from Staffordshire to watch my team despite them breaking my heart when we went into the Conference. Think you have a decent non league team at Brislington. Moved to Stafford with the RAF and settled here.Horfield a lot easier than Ashton for me to get to from here.Native of Totterdown. We played well yesterday and I was back for 7.15.Up here it's Stoke or Wolves but fans moan about exactly the same things as Bristolians.
