Heard that at the last home game the catering manager gave a young female member of staff a right b@llicking in front of customers in hospitality, making her cry. Whatever she did wrong this is totally un-professional. Why not take her aside somewhere quiet and "have a word". As well as staunch Rovers fans there are often businesses & guests in hospitality and these bullying actions (this is not the first instance apparently) could be hugely detrimental to the marking dept trying to get guests to come back in the future. In business, networking and word of mouth is vital and if a guest told someone at work what they witnessed, this could have a snowball effect of negative thoughts about sponsoring the club. Everyone knows one of the things the club does well is the hospitality meals but it must be embarrassing for the guests to witness this rant. No doubt the young girl will not come back to work at the Mem again meaning the club either has to waste time, energy and money on recruiting and training, or spend probably twice as much money getting agency staff. When I have been for a meal there is the same core 6/7 staff and then another new 5/6 staff. The money is probably not great, but with bad mmanagement attitudes, no wonder there is such a costly turnover of staff or reliance on agency staff.

Apparently she was about to divulge the names of the rumoured consortium members thus breaking the confidentiality clause she signed in her employment contract!

Oh ah the catering dept...... #couldn't make it up I moaned about the catering aswell yesterday. Like I've said before, we can't handle big crowds. Also, the toilets are a disgrace. Having to let my kids use those disgusting portaloos actually bothers me. Is there another club that has a row of portaloos as the permanent facility?! It's a joke.

The UWE will solve all. Not like we've been there for 20 odd years.

If she is still upset I don't mind giving up my time to comfort her, if anyone has her address. I have comforted lots of maidens in distress.

This does not surprise me one bit, a mate of mine said he worked down the mem in the summer and he said the manager of the stadium spoke to him like a piece of sh** and then had him cutting his back garden with the groundsman! Sounds like a shambles off the pitch . Sack the board....

One thing I was watered off with was I stood in 3 different queues for cups of coffee, only to find out by the time I had got to be served or halfway down the queue they had run out of hot water . We are a joke sometimes. I didn't buy anything in the end so the club loses out. I don't tend to buy drinks at the ground and don't plan to in future now either.

They use an urn which just needs to be toppped up with water, were they that lazy that they couldn't top up an urn? What queues were you in?

Yeah I got to the front of a queue behind the blackthorn where the lady advised me they were just going to get some more water from the van next door is it ok if I wait I said yes, she then said it would take ten minutes mind so I left it. I then went to the side of the blackthorn as you come in I was half way through that for them only to say the same. I went back there ten minutes later and they were still short so gave up in the end.

Just to bring in the scales of justice I would like to applaud the stewarding team in the last few home games in the family end. Its been difficult for the kids to get a good view being so busy and they've had to stand on the walkways where they 'shouldnt' really stand. When it's quiet they move them on very politely, but recently they've used common sense and allowed them to stand there so they can see. For that reason I keep going back and will continue to take them.
