[quote author=" gasincider" By half time it was obvious that Taylor seems to have no interest Sorry DC, much as we love what you have achieved, you must stop the constant tinkering. It is not going to get us where we want to be. I am not having any of that.

Stanley look good because they are a bit like Derby of the early 70's, they have a sh**e pitch that they are used to playing on and everyone else looks like a side playing an FA cup game against non league grity fighters. Just one of those teams that come and go. You have to admire what they do.

Just one of those teams that come and go. You have to admire what they do. Surely on a pitch like that against a "non league" team then last week's starting 11 was the perfect team to start? I also can't understand why Taylor's now become undroppable, when no other player seems immune from the chop?

Maybe, but the guy has us in the top 7, better than the carp managers we have had of late, we have to leave him to do his thing.

It certainly looks like we didn't offer much today. Don't agree with the comments that Milldy should have saved their goal, as someone said those goals are a regular at all levels and it's not normally pace that causes them, it's the awkward, drifting ones exactly like that which no one expects. They just seem to out fox everyone. Other than that he looked to have had a good game and I really don't see GK as s position to worry about.
Baring in mind they basically missed an open goal, looks like the team that turned up on the day deserved it.

Stanley were really not that good. They didn't need to be. We were bloody awful, and I'm sorry to say it, but all this constant changing of the team does not help in my opinion. By half time it was obvious that Taylor seems to have no interest in what he is there for. Wonder if he already has an agreement to go elsewhere in the summer. Lawrence didn't seem to know what his role was, and looked like a fish out of water. Bodin is completely wasted on the wing, and should either be put inside in place of Taylor or used as an impact sub. Gaffney did a hell of a lot of running as usual, but had a poor game, so I looked forward to rapid changes at the interval, because we only had to improve by 10% to turn them over. So, what do we get? The same side reappears for the second half, and if anything we just got worse, whilst Stanley started to dominate the game. Mind you, they didn't look like scoring either. And all the while, we on the terraces just got closer and closer to hypothermia, as we had nothing to get excited about. Then came the changes. Montano came on while I was hoping for Leadbitter to test out the Stanley defence with pace which we were crying out for. Easter came on, but Gaffney was taken off, so we still didn't get to see them together, and on came Rory Mk 11. Straight away I felt the game was gone. Taylor was still on and still just as hopeless. And so it proved. We sank closer and closer to requiring treatment for frost bite, and as the game ended and we trudged wearily away, yet another blast of snow struck the faithful. Sorry DC, much as we love what you have achieved, you must stop the constant tinkering. It is not going to get us where we want to be. Thing is it's his constant tinkiering that has got us to where we are so its hard to knock his rotation in most cases. He's not always going to get it right but more than not he has. I've got to say as soon as i looked at the formation and team sheet I thought oh sh** that's not good, but I've said that before and we've played well and won. On to Wimbledon now and in DC I trust to get it right, well most of the time anyway.

its all about opinions but i think mildenhall should have saved that cross,,,on the highlights they looked better than us like they did at our ground Out of interest how could he save it? If he'd dived early he'd have looked an idiot if a central defender had dealt with it/got a touch or a striker had got a touch, once he didn't dive early I doubt any goalie would have got near it. i just felt the ball was moving slow enough for him to react after nobody got a touch

I do agree you have to admire them, especially under john Coleman.

Can we maybe agree to stop calling it tinkering? Since when did trying to win the next football game by adapting your gameplan based on different opposition (with different strengths and weaknesses compared to your last opponents) become such a bad thing?

Accrington deserved their win; a shocking goal conceded, Mildy's fault, took his eye off the flight of the ball and lost concentration. Top half finish will be great, but hope we can sneak into the play-offs, although very doubtful with the current squad of players. Need a new goalkeeper asap. utg

One poor showing and a deserved defeat hasn't turned us into a mid table team. Our manager and team has bounced back from setbacks on more than one occasion, and they will again.

Think it's harsh to say we need a new keeper based on that goal.

Need a new goalkeeper asap. utg That sounds like a Complete overreaction to me. We've got a squad very capable of finishing in the top 7 even maybe top 3. All teams have bad days and I'm confident we can bounce back with 3 points on Saturday and get a point v Pompey which would keep us right up there with easier games to come. I'll be amazed if we don't finish top 7 because we've definitely got a squad and manager capable. Our keeper is also good and the cross was very difficult to deal with he also made several saves and has done since he's come back into the side. UTG

Was there a player in the vicinity to head clear/intercept? Was there a player on the line? Was anybody obstructed/fouled? Did Mildy make any saves previously or afterwards to keep the score down? Could we have scored prior? Was it Mildys fault that we lost?

To balance things out Milders brought off three decent saves, I doubt Nicholls would have pulled all three off but would have probably let the cross in!
