TBH I've no bad feelings towards Mansfield, beating Wycombe at Wembley to go up is another matter!

I really don't want to go to Wembley with all those bitter memories. If we end up in a playoff final I really hope its against Portsmouth what an awesome game that would be. There would surely be a record L2 playoff crowd and lots of noise. Portsmouth are a huge club with a great history and we're one of the biggest in this league so there would be lots of interest. I can't contemplate losing in a play-off final, but at least if it was against a club like Pompey it would be easier to bear than losing against Wyscum.

I've been reading about Scott Shearers heroics for Mansfield yesterday. I can't help thinking that we let e perfectly good keeper go as he has had a decent career in the Football league.

Yep no more teams like FGR in the play offs who rolled over and died in the second leg. The play offs are gonna be tough this year.

Mansfield did not relegate us we did that all by ourselves History will always show that Mansfield's goal in the 36th minute condemned us to the conference. Them's the facts

It's great to talk about putting right the wrongs from the past couple of years however there is far too much of the season left to be gearing up for another Wembley victory against old foes
1) we might make the top three 2) we might make the play offs and not go to Wembley 3) we might get to Wembley and win 4) we might get to Wembley and lose 5) we may even finish below 7th
Obviously it's got to be 1 or 3 but anything is possible with it all being so tight, you would say the next 3 games are gonna be crucial but having said that look at yesterday's results did anybody think we would still be 4th after our game was called off!?

The facts he's at, the not so, mighty Mansfield hardly suggests we let another Nigel Martin leave? I'd take an in form Mildenhall even now.

Them's the facts IT was fate I believe, we deserved to go down, and if we hadn't we would have gone down last year, we had flirted with it for too long. Too many thought we were too big to go down, including most of the board I would guess however we are stronger now for it so it was a blessing in disguise, although seemed life had ended that sad day.

Didn't he leave when we ended up with Phillips, arguably the most successful goalkeeper we've had in ages? He left in a circumstance that we didn't half benefit out of.

If we beat Mansfield at Wembley to go up that would erase the worst day in our history. Understand the feeling but nothing, absolutely nothing will ever erase that feeling once that final whistle blew. We overcame it last season and that was great but the hours and days following the end of THAT match will never be erased whatever we do and whatever promotion(s) we ever get in the future will never get rid of that feeling on that day. It will always be part of our dna in the future. UTG!

Not only the result and the consequences, but the pivotal moment for me was being told to go home at a time when we were stood at the graveside mourning a dear departed loved one. Revenge is probably not the right word in my OP as I have nothing against Mansfield, but if it happened at Wembley I think it would be psychologically good for us.

Care for a reread....Worst moment of my life WATCHING THE GAS. My worst moment was watching Brian gayle. Lol I remember Ollie subbing him after about 30mins Vs the sh**e because he was that bad. I seem to remember he didn't train with us, just used to come down on a Saturday for a kick-about!!!
