Wonder if he was one of the alleged 40 applicants for the 1982 job?

"targeted their former defender Wilder" I sense it's probably odds on he'll take the job then if he was a former player? Which will be a bit unfortunate for Northampton.

Well he played for Northampton, too: 1 game on loan, vs 132 for Rotherham. Otoh, his job for the season at Northampton is probably virtually done*, so it might work out for both parties. *I could probably manage them to promotion from here.

Are Northampton completely sorted financially now? If there are still any issues, I can't see why he wouldn't run off to Rotherham. It is still possible they can survive in the championship, and even if they don't, they have a new stadium, and must been pretty well funded.
Also how classic is it that like 5 months ago Northampton were basically begging other clubs fans to donate and save their club and now they're wandering away at the top of L2 having spent more than arguably any other club in L2.

Also if Northscamton are still in troubles, they may have no choice but to accept a fee for their manager. But even if he does go, a change in manager doesn't mean they will suddenly bomb.

We changed our manager and promptly bombed to our lowest ever level of football.

We changed our manager and promptly bombed to our lowest ever level of football. Lowest level so far you mean. Give him chance, the last two seasons are aberrations and he is so clueless he can't even get us relegated properly.

It's well publicised the local council swapped the £10m debt for land around their ground, I assume virtually whipping out their debts. Apart from funding the cash to finish the partly build stand I guess they now have few money problems, as if they did surely they wouldn't still be bringing in quality players? Wilder my feel he has a duty to stick with Northampton until the jobs complete?
