Following the recent announcment that we have sold our entire allocation of tickets for our big game at Portsmouth on Saturday, it has got me thinking, and i guess, others as well. If you add up the Gas support over the last 6/7 away games, shouldnt that make us one of the best away supported clubs in the entire league/premiership? Theres no doubt, that our away support so far, has been a huge credit to Bristol Rovers Football club. With other games coming up where we will take 1500+ supporters, (Wycombe, Notts County, Newport, Northampton), we should have an away support average higher then some clubs average for home games. This seasons away support has been just amazing. So, as a loyal gashead, i say thanks to all you other Gasheads for making us all proud! Lets just keep this support going. UTG!

We do have a very good following for a club our size. They say averaging 10% of your home games away from home is very good. But think we'll average about 15% come May. City probably have a bigger following at times but when they get twice as much as us at home they'll never average more then twice as much as us away from home. In fact we'll probably both average around the 1,200 mark despite them getting twice as many at home this is something I'll always be proud about with our fanbase. Few blue they say ha! At least we travel !!

I can see a certain posters blood boiling as we speak... This sort of thing doesn't make my blood boil. We are a well supported club for our level and should be rightly proud of that. What gets my goat, is our fans and those of other well supported clubs, such as Pompey/Plymouth etc. mocking the smaller followings on the various social media platforms. The term Tin pot aimed at teams like Dagenham and Stanley grates my gears.

Why, they are tin pot clubs who over achieve, we're a well supported club who've under achieved for years. The facts don't lie.
Back to the OP it's amazing we'll take nearly 3,000 to each of our last reasonable distance away games but WBA only took a couple of coach loads to Peterborough last night.

It's a long way from Weston Super Mare to Peterborough.

I think the point is that its unfair to take the water out of these 'tinpot' clubs and their fans. We're at the same level as them, regardless of who has achieved/underachieved. I've had good days at 'tinpot' clubs (Nuneaton were a nice lot last year) and some of our smaller local clubs (Bath etc.) would die without some kind of support base. Unfair to then laugh at these sides on social media etc. or think BRFC are superior because of fan base.

At least we travel !! There are lots of very loyal Gasheads that only go to away matches and I think that's a factor in this situation. I've spoken to many Gas over the years that have become fed up with our board and the way our clubs been run for so long that whilst they still love the club and the history and so on they just won't put money in our boards pockets. When I go away there's always loads of faces I never see at home games. Some people get more of a buzz from the away games too and I think we've got the big traveling army of passionate fans thing down to a tee where as at home although we do create a good atmosphere for the bigger games the crowd seems to go through the motions a bit maybe in most of the other games. This is only the feeling I get and I've got no stats to back it up , only mates and acquaintances etc.
