I agree, nothing can be worse than Status quo.

The problem is we can't just stay at the Mem the latest accounts show it's impossible to make any money at the ground as even after a relatively successful season we still lost nearly a million pounds. There seems no way DC could cut his wage bill any further last seeing that virtually every player played their but we still came v. close to not getting promoted. So stay at the Mem and lose a £1m every season, before eventually going bust, or move to the UWE so we can actually survive in the long term. Once we get there it's down to us to make the atmosphere.

We could break even but it would involve not spunk a million a year on legal costs and having a reduced wage bill. The only way it would work out is if we massively upped our commercial aim. I don't see how we lose so much year on year.

In my opinion and as much as I hate to say it' we are years behind our unloved neighbours who in spite of everything are light years ahead of us and our dynamic on a serious promotional level.... We need to re address this asap.
It makes us look very poor and amatuer!

Losing close to £1m a year at the mem is pretty much the alternative which isn't viable I agree! With any luck the new stadium (if it happens) will keep the noise in a bit better and we *might* even see a drop in ticket prices to fill the place. It would be a shame if it's only half-full every week. I wouldn't say I'm a youngster (30 this year *gulp*) cookinongas!

We could/could have survive(d) at The Mem if we put some thought into how we do it.
When questioned for countless years, and I remember questioning Watola a decade ago, the answers have always been we need a new stadium
Don't get me wrong yes we do and especially if we want to move up, but as far as I am concerned that has been the blinkered view and answer for so long.
We have constantly chased a dream and used it as an excuse for never doing anything of note at The Mem (and I mean as little as tarting up the bars to make them a bit more appealing)
There is nothing wrong to looking ahead, having a dream and aiming into the distance, but we should always have had one eye on what was around us, but we never have IMO

Being content at what we have/where we are most be music to the ears of this board. (The worst board we've ever had btw).
'Having our Rovers back' simply means that at this 'present' time we have a cracking manager and a group of player with a great ethic. They will come and go though unfortunately, and unless the board go before it's all too late, we'll back in the same boat once DC goes onto bigger and better things.
The Mem is a Dump and a pretty crap atmosphere for most games.
