I share your worries however the biggest risk is staying with the current board who have been terrible for the club on and off the pitch. We are heading towards bankrupcy and have failed to learn our lessons from relegation.
A happy medium would be nice of people who care about us but who can count and build up the commercial and scouting side of things I

UTG! We've probably got enough points in the bag to survive the drop with a 12 point penalty for going bust too. Happy days.

Just read your thoughts regarding a new stadium and at the same time thinking about a thread the other day regarding the atmosphere at the mem. Iv'e been to games where there basicaly hasn't been any at all. It was said in the other thread those that stand and sing in the blackthorn get the full sound and resonating but in other parts of the groundit doesn't generate the same level of noise. Also, lets face it the mem is a dump. Tommym9, you must only be a youngster if you've only known the mem. To me Eastville will always be our spiritual home but that was pretty ramshackle too I always stood in the North enclosure in front of the north stand and it sounded fantastic when the crowd was in full volume but if you moved along to the muller road end of the enclosure where there was no stand behind the sound was lost and it appeared to be quiet. What im saying is a modern stadium that looks as one with a roof all the way around will generate so much more sound and atmosphere than we've ever had

Have thought this for years. It's a case of careful what you wish for. Very tricky situation is say, on the one hand we need progress but at what cost. Rest assured it'll be the same people complaining about the crap stadium now that'll be moaning when they can't get a seat cos the prawn sandwich brigade have taken them if we ever had s big money backer.
Went to Arsenal the other day. Zero atmosphere apart from the saints fans and people whinging about how Bad Theo Walcott is, fairly sure he'd be one of the best we've ever had if he was here!
With the sort of investment spoken about on here we would undoubtedly lose s lot of our identity because we are a big city.
Regardless of money the likes of Southampton and Bournemouth will only ever get so big cos of the size of potential support.
UTG

Great piece Tommy.
Agree with pretty much all of that.
I'm wary about leaving the Mem and how it'll change the club/fanbase/matchday experience.

Lets give whatever happens a fair go as it can't be any worse then the status quo.
