If the press conference confirms the rumours I will be cautiously optimistic about the future. Is there any chance people don't start posting loads of stuff about being richer than Bill Gates and new stadiums (like what happened with the planning permission) until it all happens for real.... Or am I wasting my breath? UTG I agree with this, as of late I've been a bit more pessamistic

Cityinpeace - don't take this the wrong way, but no one here cares about City today. Over the years we have not been that far behind with no money and no home, if all the new owners do is build the UWE and help sort out a bit of the debt we will all be happy and I am pretty sure we won't end up far away from each other.

Lansdowns willing to back his manager. However, not throwing round cash willy nilly like he'd done before. A far more sensible approach in my opinion. You'll have to get into a decent league for any real income. Is that why he didn't back Cotts?

Some good news is given the family's current football interests, I think we could see an emphasis on infrastructure and youth development. I certainly don't think the academy etc. will be forgotten, let's put it that way. Let's hope it's this countries players being developed and we don't suddenly have a load of lads joining the academy from the Jordanian FA.

For all his money the duke of guernsey has achieved the square root of F**k all on the pitch during his time at the city.

It depends if you mean the club or the owner, I would suggest that correctly invested funding could lead to the Gas being better off than City in the future. As far as I can see it millions isn't being thrown at City at the current time. Lansdowns willing to back his manager. However, not throwing round cash willy nilly like he'd done before. A far more sensible approach in my opinion. Seems to be working for you

A top manager would have wanted a top budget Steve Letdown seems not prepared to invest in the team to get to the Prem anymore, just my opinion. I think thats why SC got so frustrated because he wouldn't pay the wages. Letdown will invest in buildings but not the team. It may be sensible for him, but not the team or the fans IMO.

From what I have been told, this lot are willing to build the UWE to the designed spec. The other lot weren't. I posted earlier but I think it was lost that the current board will stay on as advisors. People will obviously mock the idea of the current board staying on as advisors - but in reality Nick's construction experience and initimate knowledge of the stadium design together with the board's knowledge of the local football and social environment will be required by any new foreign ownership anyway. No, I disagree. New owners can simply hire people for impartial advice on anything that Nick can offer.

I'll be won over when we see a 'kit/badge change' article on the OS on April Fools day.
Or possibly when Mr. al Qadi gives a Holloway-esque speech off the back of a bus after the press conference this afternoon.

New picnic bench outside the grotto? New grotto is looking smashing. Just needs a bit of tinsel.
