What with all the "events" likely to unfold today. Do you think this will be a distraction to DC and the players with a crucial part of the season coming up?
If you look at investors at other clubs they do sometimes have a habit of bringing in their own man... Alternatively could motivate the players to be part of a brighter future..?

Everyone in the team will be dying to walk out for our first game at the UWE.

Pretty much nailed on that we'll lose tomorrow if the Jordanians are watching from the stands. Beyond that you'd have to hope they'd keep hold of DC seeing as he's doing a pretty good job so far.

DC is one of the brightest young managers in lower league football. Maybe they came here because of him.

Exactly, motivation to go up the leagues WITH US rather than having to go elsewhere. Now Clarke can have a very bright future as a manager, with BRISTOL ROVERS!! UTG

Was gonna start a similar thread. Can imagine DC has some traditionalist views with regards to club ownership, would be interesting to give a penny for his thoughts

I cant imagine he would put up with any meddling in team affairs.
If our new supreme overlord turns up in the dressing room at half time there could be trouble..

If it does effect the team we can hardly turn does millions of investment just to tery and reach the Play Offs this season, however, hopefully it will have a positive effect i.e. will Lockyer want to leave in the summer if he could be playing at the UWE in a year or two??

Does this 'meddling in team affairs' stuff come from the stereotypes re: foreign owners?
Let's wait until they make an announcement, see what they're like etc. before judging them.
EDIT: Sorry bstokegas, that wasn't directly aimed at you. I've seen a few people mention the same sort of stuff before in the other threads.

The meddling comment has nothing to do with them being foreign. Was more thinking of new owners who have no background in Football. Has happened plenty with British owners as well! Look at Swindon!

Makes sense. I have read this morn that the bloke does have involvement with football, albeit with the Asian Football Development Project (something like that?) and Jordanian FA. So not much on 'ownership', but at same time at least he isn't completely new to the sport. It's very much mixed emotions at the moment for me (scepticism over new owners, excitement over new owners, shock over new owners)
