My only slight niggling concern is the new chairman as he isn't very popular in Swansea (was a student there during his tenure)
Anyone know much about him ?

A long time ago when Swansea struggled financially but won the 4th Division.
I think we need to let him get stuck in and see how he performs. Sounds like he is close to the owners and is their trusted English football man. Good enough for me at the moment and better than Higgs & Co I hope.

We were going out of business that is still the worse that can happen.

Beggars choosers / cake and eat it! Is there ever a popular chairman I wonder, except when everything is flying nicely, in which case nobody notices?! Thankless task in many ways. Personally I am reassured the new owners feel the need to have some local football expertise involved. Was worried about non footballing people bringing in silly ideas, but hopefully he will help keep that sort of stuff in check and avoid the Cardiff / hull situation

Other quotes from the interview now on Radio Bristol:-
The new stadium is an integral part of the deal The strip of land next to MoD, Hewlett Packard etc enables commercial opportunity. Its not normal to buy an asset subject to litigation.
I think we can now be assured that these guys intend to build the UWE and wouldn't be buying the club without it.

He's just said Toni has been asked to stay on as CEO! This could be good, the new owner won't have a bleedin clue how much he's losing!

Higgs has stood down today and handed over to a new owner who will finance the move to a new stadium - a deal that Nick Higgs put in place. Without the stadium we would not have attracted the new investor . Yes the guy made mistakes, he may have been shafted by Sainsburys , he may not have been that comfortable in front of the cameras but he has left Bristol Rovers in a far healthier psoition when he stands down than when he took over.

He's just said Toni has been asked to stay on as CEO! I think that must be some sort of punishment for him, bet he thought he was skipping off to the sunset of chiantishire but nope, he's staying to sort out the mess of his own making. That my friends is justice

More quotes:-
"Ideally stadium will be 100% owned by FC but if it has to be with a partner we will have to accept that"
This was later expanded on:-
"We need to look at taking a lease from UWE against buying the freehold"
So now its becoming clearer what the hesitation is about I think. Ideally they want the freehold and to buy the land from UWE.

That my friends is justice doubt that. Toni was probably fearing for his position. He didn't have any personal investment to worry about a return on just his livelihood. Good luck to the guy I say, today we wipe the slate clean.

beating Grimsby was massive, they would not have bought rovers if in conference For so many reasons. I can't even begin to contemplate what it would have been like had that shoot-out gone the other way.

He gave a pretty impressive interview on the clubs YouTube channel, interestingly, unless I misheard him, he said he's been looking at the club for 5 years, I assume with the new owners backing. If that's the case they clearly haven't rushed into this deal, it also kills the suggestion that the middle east news article attracted their interest.
Whilst TW is not every fans favourite at least he is some connection but old & new Rovers which surely we need, otherwise DC & co could feel v. isolated and the new owners won't have a clue how to run the club (not TW did though!)
As far as NH it's odd one as he got us relegated to the non league for the first time but then helped us get promoted, has also nearly bankrupted us but now we could be on the verge of a brilliant new dawn thanks to his UWE plans.

I heard the 5 year bit also but thought he got years and months mixed up Sep 2015 - Feb 2016 is 5 months ish.
