That's how I explained it to the kids...big game tomorrow, Rovers have pretty much won the lottery!

No, this is far better. You can win decent money, but not enough to put one over the other lot. Just feel so sad about good lads I remember from the Tote End days who have missed this, not to mention two people who helped us survive to see this, namely Denis Dunford and Ron Craig. God bless em all, and those close to you guys that you have lost. Great thread and I share the same sentiments, I am a mixture of excited, apprehensive, and slightly sad about leaving part of our identity in the past, and sad at those, including my Dad, who cannot share in this day. Here's hoping that today's news represents the start of a bright and exciting future for our beloved club. Up the Gas!

God bless em all, and those close to you guys that you have lost. I know exactly how you feel! My dad and my uncle who first took me to Eastville in 1957, for my 5th birthday would be gutted. They only lived to see us at Twerton and not at the Mem, but I remember their constant comments about not having a decent ground. After many 'false dawns', I'm still reluctant to believe that the UWE will happen and I was beginning to doubt you about the takeover, but you were right and I apologize for any/all of the doubters on here! My Dad knew DD well and said that he would be the man to save us. Unfortunately, he never lived to see that happen. I'm sure he's 'up there' today saying "I told you we would get a proper ground eventually". I do hope he's right!
