Have been wondering who introduced steve Hamer to the Gas, was it Colin Sexstone, the timing would be right, and am guessing they know each other? If so no mention of it from any quarters and he deserves some credit, never thought I would say that!

My suspicion would be Higgs realised he was out of his depth (hamer and others may have told him after a few silly initial conversations) in dealing with a range of interested parties so got Colin in to help lead the discussions, possibly at hamers suggestion

He saw all the insults, the back stabbing, name calling etc etc and thought sod it why bother?

If it was Sexton why make him an Exec Director and, if it that was due to the new owners influence, wouldn't he have been retained in that role, or some Directors role as a reward/continuity?

Samuelson was who sprang to mind the day the deal was announced.

Sextoy was a non exec director. Which is more of an advisory role and has no influence in decision making.

It would appear to me that Sexton was brought in by Higgs as a confident to help him in the many meetings that took place with the new owners, after all the likes of BB who could not manage to get enough new child size shirts in for an open day is hardly the right choice to help in selling a football club to new owners.

When we were relegated to the Conference we were promised the club would be restructured from top to bottom but many aspects continued to carry on the the same ramshackle way.Hopefully, merchandising, public relations, further sponsorship,a proper scouting set-up,youth development etc will all now flourish and bring our club up to the standards we need.Excited muchly.
