Someone made a comment on one of the other threads that Nick Day was unprofessional when interviewing Wael on Sat and in the ways of big business this is probably true. However this is the Gas and how we are or maybe were. It got me thinking how do we want to be in the future? Personally I thought the interview was typical grounded Gas and Wael's response was brilliant. The questions are though, what do you think he thought of it and should we continue to have this unique Gas 'attitude' and humour in the future?

Nick Day is an excellent PA, I wasn't much of a fan of the 'asking for money' gag to be honest, but the rest was decent.

He's ok at what he does.
The music is often poor and the PA is awful.
It also sometimes feels disjointed and cobbled together so maybe he just needs a better wingman.
Nicks strength is when he mixes in and talks to the supporters. (home and away fans)
Fair play to him though because what he does is easy to criticize but 99% would run a mile if we were asked to do it.

It seems like I'm the only person who can hear the p.a system fine! I stand middle left in The Blackthorn, and seriously I don't have any problems hearing it.

Likewise. although occasionally it does let out a massive white noise or make a few random banging sounds. Don't make the joke...

He shouts too much! The records he plays are usually old and downbeat

I usually stand near the dug outs and it's very difficult to make out what he's saying most of the time

PA system is crap and dated but so are most things at the Mem. Another reason to add to the list on why we need the UWE.
Music choice is rubbish!! But am I right in saying you can request songs/ shout outs?? I blame the fans for crap request.
Nick isn't the best at getting the crowd fired up for the game either; Apart from the odd hi ho silver song etc... Which I feel has always had a negative effect on our atmosphere at the start of games. Check out the Crystal Palace PA guy and we could learn a thing or two.
I do love it though when he says 'its 3 O'clock and I can smell gas - COME ON ROVERS COME ON YOU BLUES!!' - I'm not sure if he come up with that himself but he's put his own mark on it and I wouldn't want to see anyone else try to replicate it if they took over.
Overall I think he'll do for now but I wont complain if someone better took over its a shame that anyone who has filled in hasn't been that good to date!

I think he has done an ok job for what we were, like many I think the new owners want the whole club to operate more professionally, the wallet quip was I thought awkward and may not have done him any favours

I think he does well. PA system is sh**e. Music is awful and that little medley of songs that we've had for about 10 years is rubbish. That version of GI means all the young uns sing it at about 100 miles an hour.

It'll be interesting to see if Wael makes any short term changes at the Mem such as a new PA, a refurb of some of the toilets and a replacement Grandstand score board etc, etc just to make the place slightly better, or whether he follows NH lead and just waits for the new ground.
