Whilst doing some betting research, I came across a statistic that caught my eye.
This season we have scored 46 league goals, but only 11 of them have come in the first half (24%).
Being 3-0 up at half time on Tuesday night was a pleasant surprise but prior to that Hartlepool match, the figures look even worse. Before Tuesday we had only scored 19% of our goals in the first half of games, which just isn't good enough imo.
Apart from Portsmouth away, I can't think another game where we have looked completely out classed, which makes me wonder why DC is so stubborn on setting his team to counter the opposition instead of concentrating on our own strengths.
We're having a great season and DC is doing a fantastic job but I honestly believe if we changed our mentality and became more ruthless from the off, we could better ourselves even further.

Not sure it matters when we score as long as we do.

Cool stat attack. That's why we're bottom of League Two when it comes to teams winning at half time and have spent more minutes on average behind in games than we have been ahead.
It'll be interesting in the Notts County match on Saturday as they have only conceded one goal between minutes 46-75 at home this season, wheres we've only scored 4 of our 22 goals away from home in the first half of matches.
First goal is crucial, otherwise it could be a no score draw.
The key stat: Where we will be sitting at 5pm on Saturday.

In a pub in Nottingham celebrating 3 pts with some poor excuse for cider.

6th in the league. DC knows what he's doing If he knows what he's doing, he will be fully aware of the shocking stat mentioned. Will you state that 1 liner if we finish outside the playoffs due to gd on the last day? The table is very tight from 2nd to mid table.

i just think were a fit and determined team that tends to wear opponents down as the game progresses, the final result is the only thing that matters and considering were newly promoted with a modest budget were doing very well imo

Yes, we shouldn't be anywhere near the playoffs with the budget Darrell has worked to.

Also, if you are agreeing with the O.P that this stat is proof that we need to attack more and counter less in order to get the right result then I think you're wrong.
