Bit cringey for me this one!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of the press/media and what they do but DC seems to be getting less patient with them each interview he does...
Wonder why?

Probably because the press goes from 'a loss today Darrell, do you feel under pressure?' to 'do you think Rovers will end up in the Top 3' in the space of a week!!
Happens a lot to be fair, press round here are a bit reflective of the fans at times.
Also, fairly common knowledge he is evasive re: injuries, understandably.

DC just seems to be giving the impression hed's sooner be elsewhere than doing the interview, which really is at odds with the interviews with Hamer & co which appeared online recently.

I don't really like watching them to be honest. A lot of silly questions and uncomfortable answers. I know DC always wants more but it'd be nice to see a smile every so often!

He's a football manager and a good one at that. Potentially a couple of months away from being our greatest. Gets a lot of c rap from some fans which I feel his outlet to them is through the press. I'd rather have him cagey around press and gaining results than a redknapp type manager who's constantly making it all about him.

He's always been the same and we as fans loved it, now it's all weird? From out of plays then talking about top 3, I would be frustrated

Don't blame him from wanting to be elsewhere. Same old boring questions...
DC clearly has his own way of dealing with the media (for whatever reasons) and fair play to him.
Just wonder if it's getting to the stage he'll be told to ease up a bit in the interviews?! Seems a bit easy to wind him up if you ask me

I thought it was ok tells me all I need to know which is pretty much the whole point of it. I think the interviewers get used to managers being short with them at times, it's nobody's fault they have to ask questions and managers don't always have a polite answer. DC is a straight talker which is a good thing imo

Poor DC looks shattered. I suppose chasing promotion - even when it wasn't expected - is almost as stressful as a relegation battle.

I love DC,what he's achieved and will hopefully continue to achieve with us, but part of a Managers job is to deal with the Media, usually on a weekly basis, whether they like it or not.
I know he must be sick of the same old questions getting wheeled out week in week out, but to sit there and pick his ears, scratch his face, fidget and generally look pxxxed off, didn't come across very well imo.

Thought it was a decent interview - but poor chap hardly got a straight answer !? DC was ...... how do you call it prickly. Strange but there you go.

Just cant remember him being like this when he started, just wonder why he's like it

The last media savvy manager we had was Paul Buckle, that's all I'm saying.

DC's interviews are great. I'd rather have those than, say, something like John Ward's where he was always very lovely, but ends up giving the same non-answers that all manages give.
And really, the interviewer needs to stop asking about injuries. How many times does he need to be told? It's not his job to ask a question he's been told, literally, 80 times that DC won't answer coz it's part of his game-plan that he doesn't answer them.

Bit petulant for me, don't think the two of them will be dancing together on the table in the Vic at the end of season party!

If he don't want to do it then get somebody else to do it, he is the manager, delegate !

What sort of questions is he supposed to ask then..? What colour pants he has on beneath his track suit?
It was an innocent enough question and I would have also liked to know if Gaffney was fit or not tbh. All he needed to say was both players are progressing well, or something along those lines.
Think he needs to lighten up a bit and beat the press at their own game.... we don't want him turning into another Shaun O'Dismall or Steve Cliterall now do we..?!

Watching it again. I think Darrell might have expected to be talking about Wimbledon and tonight's game as he seems quite relaxed while on that subject.
