I sound like an old fart but I feel sorry for the 'kids of today' who will never have the pleasure of getting their VERY limited info from radio, local rag, ceefax, programme, and (if you were mental enough) clubcall. I used to roll up at Twerton knowing very little about who was injured, suspended, playing or even had been brought into the club. Innocent days. Aye top post MM. Ye forgot tae mention back in th' day wees wuz so naieve wee woud o' wrote tae 'Jim'll Fix It' asking tae play with Big Dev up front!

Having scored his 40th goal in 2 seasons (impressive at any level) Matty Taylor still gets a lot of stick on the forum. I'm not trying to provoke any arguments it just got me thinking about pre internet days with no Twitter Facebook or forums. I wonder what people would have been writing about people like big Dev or Chris McLean. Would Gerry's mullet have his own Facebook page or maybe twentypences mustash. We often watch players in a different way now often with others opinions not just our own I suppose. Lambert was fat and sh** for a while wasn't he. On another subject how come linsey is one of our own but Ollie Clarke doesn't get the chant ? What a load of old crap to try & start an argument. Why on earth do you think people would be writing about Christian MCLean? No-ones writing about Fallon & they both filled exactly the same role in a squad.

it must be fantastic to have such a high opinion of your own opinions,,made me chuckle I think after watching around 1900 games at all levels I have the right to an opinion!! yes of course but to say "we have 4 good players in the team" because they have vision etc and the others dont struck me as a bit odd. fact is we are a good team in this division and different skill sets are required to make a good team not just "vision" surely?

But Maclean scored some important goals in our promotion to what is now the championship you are not comparing like with like

I remember McClean having a purple patch of form when he scored 3 or 4 goals in as many games. For all his limitations, we would not have won the league without his contributions.

When you look back over the years it is usually one of those players that fans ridicule or hate that make telling contibutions.I recall one of Macleans goals when he went in for a header got there just before the keeper ball went in the net keepers fist knock him out.Think it may have been against Chester but not certain
