Gas go marching in - we all have different opinions dont we? I feel that brown as a left back is stronger than leaddsbor clarke at right back. I feel a really good mobile right back would be an asset.it seems to me that leads is better going forward and clarke more solid and reliable but won't get forward much. It would seem that I'm out of kilter with lots on here but thats my view and this is a forum. Would you be happy with the current choices at right back for next year because i wouldn't.

Stewart Downing I have been told. Out of favour at Boro, prepared to drop down on loan till the end of the season to secure us promotion. Will get a big bonus if we go up automaticly. If we go up he will sign a premanate deal, this we lead to some other high profile Championship players who will come in the summer.

It will be quite interesting to see how DC manages the new era.
Up until now he has had to work within a tightly constrained budget and has build a squad of players drawn mainly from non-league status. He has got them playing and, in my opinion anyway, overachieving as a team. We are all applauding the fact that we have "got our Rovers back". Every single player seems to want to put in their shift, and more importantly they want to win for the club. They play together as a team, and seem to be just as much a team off the pitch as on it. Maybe that has evolved as part of the "backs to the wall" mentality.
I do hope that the availability of funds doesn't change any of that. I kind of agree that we need cover for the central midfield due to the current injuries - but I would hate to see the spirit of the club lost if we brought in the wrong type of player.

But we do need to embrace this new era. We are now with the big boys and can affford any player we want. The problem will be attracting then to a us in the bottom tier. We just nned to get one big name in to prove to the football world we are the real deal.

Oh, and mine is not the best, but your spelling is terrible. Is Downing another player who turned you down?

A pacey winger, who can beat a full back and get in a decent centre would be great; also, a creative midfielder, alongside Linsey = automatic promotion.

What is a premanate deal? Is it something to do with the new rules on loan signings??

There's only one thing worse than a sh** head and that's a sh** head pretending to be a Gas head.

Banned because I don't feel comfortable accepting people with single figure IQs on Gaschat.

With Sinclair, Lawrence, Gaffney, Harrison, Lockyer and McBernie Inn missing for the 2 games over Easter the squad is starting to look very thin

Someone said he was running around the pitch before the game on Saturday. If he is we still need a midfielder to cover injuries and could do with another winger, who can play in the middle if we play 352

Thank you Lulworth. That is exactly my view. Anyway i dont think I'll bother starting a thread again as all you receive in return is sly digs! Nothing sly about the digs you're simply talking nonsense, we've 2 x RB's but 1 x LB & 1 x RW plus possibly only 2 fit x CM's, why would DC sign a RB just to replace Leads on the bench at best, plus if we play WB's DC's going to struggle to sign a better one than Leads anyway. Ignoring the Pompey game we're hardly conceding a goal a game lately so defence doesn't seem a problem area anyway.
